Dermot and Natasha do have that chemistry. I could see them as a married couple.

The kind of married couple that don't like each other any more? Come on, they hardly ever interact with each other, and when Dermot tries to, Natasha just seems a bit embarassed and flounders, swiftly trying to move on to the next item.

Look at this clip about Behind the Scenes at BBC Breakfast News with Dermot and Natasha, the link is below. If you don't call this chemistry, I don't know what is!

Sorry, but it all seems a bit false and put-on to me. I guess we're not going to agree on this one.

Whilst on the subject of Mishal Hussein, I saw her introducing a programme called 'After The Election' late on News 24 a couple of evenings ago. Incidentally it struck me how much she looks like 'Mad' Maya Sharma from Corrie.

Yes, we are gonna agree to disagree on this one. I remember one person on this forum accused them of flirting too much. That's what I call chemistry. Unless you have some inside info Spencer, then I will believe that they genuinely get on.

I don't believe the don't get on - I'm sure they are good friends - but they have no chemistry on screen- just because you get on with someone doesn't mean they have immediate chemistry. Dermot says something - it completely throws Natasha and she fluffs something up.

Such a pity that they have both signed to present Breakfast for another year - but hoepfully the new contract will have them present the Six as well - meaning they are on Brekkie less.

How do you know that Demot and Natasha have signed a contract to do Breakfast for another year? I thought they had another 3 years on Breakfast.

No insider info, just a telly tuned to BBC One every morning. Breakfast News has summed it up well: they probably do get on in real life, they just don't appear to interact naturally on screen.

Anyway, I shan't say any more on the matter or we'll just end up going round in circles!

It seems clear now that Mishal won't return to Breakfast as her profile on the Breakfast website has been replaced by Sian's profile which now says "Sian returned to Breakfast early in 2005 after a spell as presenter on the BBC's 6 O'clock News."

Shame - as I really liked Mishal - anyone know where she is going at BBC News now?

Also - I see Emily's profile is still there - but she hasn't been on since she has had her baby.

i remember with the old Breakfast News, they always had presenters from different parts. Ones that come to mind are Noel Thompson (NI) and Sally Magnusson (Scotland)

i though that format was good, a bit like a BBC version of UK Today (ITV News Channel) but for more then a minuet!

Not sure really - one would think she will go back to BBC World News, but Mike Embley seems to have made the evening shift his own. Mind you, Adrian Finighan had made it his shift while Mishal was in Washington, but he was, sadly, moved back to weekends when Mishal returned.

After appearing as herself in My Hero and Have I Got News For You, BBC news girl and part-time dance star Natasha Kaplinsky is much in demand.

Matt Lucas and David Walliams want her for the new series of Little Britain - she will interview Sebastian, the camp assistant to the Prime Minister.

Delighted to see the silky voiced News Diva back at the Breakfast Newsdesk yesterday morning. I was scared that I was going to miss her on my last day of my visit to the UK.

However, as expected, she turned up and delivered the news in the way that only Moira can!

Has there been any formal replacement of Kate Sanderson yet? Susanna Reid and Louisa Baldini did it last week... perhaps Emily Maitlis will take over, until she goes back to work full time after maternity leave?

Why not bring Asad Ahmad back? He was all right, wasn't he? And also, why don't they make much use of Jules (Julia) Botfield as either newscaster or even lead presenter?? She is a lot better than Natasha.

Perhaps it's because she bears a striking resemblence to Sian Williams (hair and stature etc) and it was offputting for viewers???????

Reminds me of the sometimes intro to Sky News - "This is Sky News, with David Foster and Juliette Foster" !!! Husband and wife reading the national news. (joke).

Sian and Jules could be twins.
