Just had a thought.

Regional news on BBC 2, right.

Only can broadcast Leeds on BBC 2, yes.

Seeing Leeds had a problem recently, which caused Hull to be broadcast to Leeds instead on BBC 1, if the same problem happens when the news is on 2, can Hull still broadcast to Leeds & broadcast on 2 instead?

I'm guessing somehow they can !

(How are the CI viewers taking the news about the opt, seeing they'll get London ISTR, whether they like it or not.

Channel News will get a few more viewers I s'pose!)

Hey, c'mon, it can't be that bad? Cab to work, and maybe even an hour or so on night pay. Surely that's enough to compensate? Smile

Outside of London we tend to drive ourselves!
Fair enough, I don't why anyone who'd want to drive in London. What thread's this again?

[Why does the BBC allow a programme with regional opt-outs to be moved across onto a channel that doesn't official support opt-outs.

... in England.

For the 7 days Breakfast is on BBC2 - there will be no English Region opts. Scotland, NI and Wales will, however, still opt at the usual times and TC7 will sustain for 3 mins.

For those of us who can't understand what the hell is going on, can analogue BBC2 opt out to regions, as it has done before, yes or no?

And will there be regional opts next week?

Main regions can, sub-regions cannot, as I understand it. Opts will be as normal until Thursday.

What happens on Thursday then?
Also when you say main regions are you referring to Scotland, NI, Wales and England with sub-regions of Yorkshire and Midlands etc. or are you on about Yorkshire and Midlands with sub-opts as Hul etc.?

The latter. NI, Wales and Scotland are Nations, not English Regions.

Breakfast will be broadcast on BBC2, so sub-opts on analogue will not be available I presume (for example, Look North Hull viewers will get Look North Leeds). Also, the regional newsteams in England will not be available on digital.

Why the BBC think the Commowealth games should deserve a place on BBC1 and cock up the regular schedule, being as though all Winter Olympic coverage was shown on BBC2, god knows. But that's not for here.

Absolutely. When I switched on this morning I thought that they had fixed the tower but was sadly mistaken when the new one was displayed for Weekend 24.
