Moira is great doing the "Breakfast Briefing", why can't they let her co-present the rest of the programme sometimes. I remember recently she carried on with Dermot one morning because Natasha was late (she didn't start until 8am) and Moira worked well with Dermot.

Actually Natasha was ill and Sian arrived at 7.00 to present; Dermot and Moira were only on together for half an hour but I agree they seemed to get on well and I think she would be good. Why don't they let Moira co-present a weekend edition several of the other newsbelt readers have done this: Kate Sanderson, Gillian Joseph, Sarah Campell etc.

Yes I understand that but she's certainly talented enough and she would have a co-presenter with her. Some days both presenters don't do individual interviews andyway, one may do one and the others co-presented, she's quite capeable of that.

Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil.

Your days here are clearly numbered.

Well Joel, we've said it enough times you would have thought someone would have cottoned on.

We won't be seeing Moira on much else unless it's relatively easy (i.e. no full live interviews like Brekkie).

It was nice to see the wonderful Suzanne Virdee of Midlands Today read the news on Breakfast this morning. She is really very good and I am surprised that the BBC are'nt using her on their main national bullitens yet.

I like you. (not in the Jack Nicholls, "Here's..." way though)

Suzanne is an excellent presenter and certainly one we in the Midlands *love* - although the increasing use of Sarah Falkland is starting to annoy me. I've even heard talk that she may be the next Sophie...

I lived in Birmingham for 3 years while I was at uni up until 6 months ago and know how good Suzanne is as a newsreader.

Listen BBC, we need her on national news bullitens now.

I'd have thought 20 years on the job experience was as valid as a few years doing a journalism course though...

Deja vu. Deja vu. Deja vu.

Haven't we been here (a thousand times) before, folks? As much as I would live to see BIG MOIRA being given a greater role in BBC News' general output, methinks that it is also unlikely. In fact, she is probably happy doing what she is comfortable with.

Probably very true. Whilst on the subject, does anyone know how big Moira's role was doing the News 24 Breakfast (in the pre-simulcast days)? Presumably she must have done plenty of interviews and two-ways then.

I'd assume pretty much the same as Breakfast Briefing, when they had the time to give her preset questions.

Ah well.

Bill is out of SCD... will he be back on the sofa more often?
