A rather nice farewell video accompanied by the musical loveliness of "Simply The Best" for Rob Bonnet this morning on Breakfast. I didn't hear any mention of where he's transferring to, but Natasha did mention that she's leaving Breakfast for six months as well.

It was a rather nice farewell video. Good to see them going as far back as the Virtual Era for a change. I don't know exactly what he is doing next, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that he isn't giving up presenting the sports news on BBC World.

There was a great moment this morning where Natasha read out an e-mail saying that it was good that Rob just did presenting and didn't get involved in any non-news programmes (I forget how the person said it exactly). Natasha was forced to agree!

Ah yes - if it's the same comment you're thinking of, I think it was something along the lines of "Rob just gets on with it... he doesn't seek any kind of celebrity status or fame... just carries on with the job he does best..."

Ah yes - that's how it went. I was quite pleased it was Natasha that read it out!

IIRC Rob Bonnet will still present sports bulletins for BBC World, present Extra Time (the sports version of HardTalk), and present the sports news on the nationals over the weekend.

Probably just fancies a break from the early morning starts

Rob is the MOIRA of the Sports Team. He does just get on with it. No nonsense and tells it like it is. No frills and tassles. Just plain old sports news delivered in a nice style.

Mishal Husain is down to present Breakfast next Fri with Bill according to the RT . Sian must be off for half term because Jane Hill is doing the Six on Mon.

It will be nice to see Jane on the Six again but I'm not saying the same for Mishal back on Breakfast again. I think she is too cold for Breakfast (I'll never forget the week with her and Natasha) and I don't like her way of presenting, prefering the more conversational but serious presentation from Kate and Sian.

Well you'll have lots more Sian while Natasha is off

Did anyone capture the reading out of the emails for Rob's farewell? I programmed my video but didn't leave it on long enough - it cut out just as the emails were about to be started. I did tape the ending though and was expecting Rob to come back into the studio and receive some sort of farewell gift to end the programme.
Instead, just a message saying that Bill and Sian are with us tomorrow.

Did anyone see any talk about Strictly Come Dancing on Breakfast this morning? Rumour has it that Bill's injured, I wondered if it was mentioned at all.

Yes he has injured his ankle after jumping over some boxes. Sian Williams and Sue Thearle were laughing at him for it.
I hope he gets through to the next round though.
