breakfast presenter natasha is covering for sophie when she goes on baba leave so, why isn't she covering for her when she has her odd days off ? also i know i'm behind the times but what happened to her on weds and thurs as she wasn't sick because i saw her in the papers having been to charity events. The radio times said she was to be in with Simon and i was looking forward to seeing the pair of them as they are good together. hasn't she just come back from three weeks off ?

Maybe because the charity event went into the early hours, and so she would get no sleep as she wakes up at 3.30 each morning anyway!

Because Sian is the duty cover for the six. When Sophie leaves, Tasha will step up as the duty presenter.
When Sian moved to presenter Jane Hill (AFAIK) became the duty cover.

Not sure why she missed Thursday and Friday, although Friday is usually her day off, and my viewing time...
But the pictures of her in The Mirror this week have been less than flattering...To say the least!

Anyway is there any news yt on who'll cover for Tash when she's off playing serious newsreader?

Not quite, when Sian was presenting the Six during Sophie's maternity leave last year, Natasha filled in for her (she only had two separate days off - not counting Bank Holidays; one of which she worked anyway). Jane has only presented the Six this year when both Sophie and Sian have been absent. She has presented approx 3-4 times with both George and Dermot (not Bill or Darren).

Breakfast have sent Sian to Islamabad to cover the Asian earthquake, good choice as she covered the Tsunami earlier in the year. Here are some caps:

I saw Sian presenting from ISB this morning. She had literally just stepped off the plane, having departed from the UK yesterday.

She and Lyse Doucet are now both in the region. Who do Sky have over there just now?

Would I be right in thinking Sian will co-anchor the Six from there tonight?

A good choice to send Sian out considering her previous coverage of the Asian Tsunami earlier this year. It is also nice to see that presenters other than Dermot are out of the studio to cover major events now with Natasha in Kenya, Sian in Islamabad and the Asian Tsunami and Bill in New Orleans and Kings Cross (7/7).
I'm guessing we are going to see Kate again over the weekend then, which makes me wonder why they have given her a regular slot on N24 especially when Natasha is moving to the six soon as by the looks of it she will spend a considerable amount of time missing the N24 shift for Breakfast.

Yes, she will: Bill said so earlier in the mid-afternoon summary.

sian is doing an excellent job reporting from pakistan. not only is she a good presenter but a good reporter too - good on her for getting her hands dirty as conditions are very grim to say the least and i'm sure the assignment was optional.

Mishal Husain is down to present Breakfast next Fri with Bill according to the RT . Sian must be off for half term because Jane Hill is doing the Six on Mon.

It will be nice to see Jane on the Six again but I'm not saying the same for Mishal back on Breakfast again. I think she is too cold for Breakfast (I'll never forget the week with her and Natasha) and I don't like her way of presenting, prefering the more conversational but serious presentation from Kate and Sian.

A rather nice farewell video accompanied by the musical loveliness of "Simply The Best" for Rob Bonnet this morning on Breakfast. I didn't hear any mention of where he's transferring to, but Natasha did mention that she's leaving Breakfast for six months as well.

It was a rather nice farewell video. Good to see them going as far back as the Virtual Era for a change. I don't know exactly what he is doing next, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that he isn't giving up presenting the sports news on BBC World.

There was a great moment this morning where Natasha read out an e-mail saying that it was good that Rob just did presenting and didn't get involved in any non-news programmes (I forget how the person said it exactly). Natasha was forced to agree!
