Quote from Media Guardian this morning:-
"News 24 sports presenter Chris Hollins is to take up a new role on BBC Breakfast. Chris will take over from Rob Bonnet later this month, fronting the sports news on the BBC1 morning show."

Rob's done the sport in the morning for years, I wonder where he'll go now?

He is still on BBC World alot, so he might just stick with World.

He's very good and deserves the promotion (which I presume it is).

According to the press release on the BBC's Press Office website, Rob will continue to present ExtraTime, as well as sport on BBC One at the weekends.

Good luck to Chris Hollins who is one of the best sports presenters on News 24, and now that he has been nabbed by breakfast, he can get some more mainstream gigs on the national news and sport.

Interesting - perhaps a replacement for Steve Ryder?

I was watching Breakfast this morning and instead of Spotlight there was the BBC London News!

Did they mean to do that?

Maybe Rob Bonnet fancies a break from the early mornings.

Seperate note - would be sad to see Steve Ryder go, especially under the circumstances surrounding the situation at the moment.

Chris Hollins is a good replacement, he is very good at presenting and interacting with presenters. Well done to him.

I think the BBC have a system where if the Local BBC don't opt in on time it goes to National default

Do you ever have anything useful to contribute, or is your sole purpose here to throw píssy comments in for no good reason?

I try to think of it as a mission from god.

But for goodness sake. Why would they mean to broadcast LDN in Plymouth? It doesn't take a genius to fathom that London would be the default feed.

I know I throw píssy comments around but generally it's in responce for people not thinking before I post.

my father is still convinced Louisa is from Lookaround too. Did she move down to LDN at some point? I can't say I watch Lookaround as they never have any news about the borders on it. the Southern is much better.

This is indeed true. If any BBC nation or region fails to opt in, they get BBC London News. Always very handy to know that Earls Court Rd is busy while I'm sitting at home in Northern Ireland. Laughing Wink
