When I first saw polish mentioned I thought people were taking about polish , varnish etc. As if it was something to do with her strange colour. i was thinking '' Does she use furniture polish or wax to get that reddish , orange colour . ?"

Confused

Do we know how long we've got until ole' Terracotta-Face goes to the Six?

Sophie is due middle of December, so would imagine she goes on maternity leave 2nd or 3rd week of November depending on how she feels.
Hope Sophie is only having 6 months off, can't put up with Kerplunk for any longer..

I'm always intrigued as to why this woman seems to incite such negative reactions in people. Personally, I could take her or leave her. She's a competent if uninspiring newsreader - moderately attractive, but nothing special. Yet some people truly loathe her. I've always wondered why.

I agree, I can suffer Raworth because I got to like her from her time on Breakfast. I can't however suffer Kaplinsky. She's much better to dislike.

By the way why do I think Kaplinsky is Polish? She seems dreadfully Polish.

From MediaGuardian: Protester shows pants at Breakfast

http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-images/Media/Pix/pictures/2005/09/16/Pants3.jpg

Quote:
BBC Breakfast viewers got more than they bargained for this morning when a protester dropped his trousers live on BBC1.
Hector Christie, who describes himself as a professional protester, was being interviewed by Sian Williams at around 8.45am when he dropped his trousers to reveal a pair of pants bearing a picture of Tony Blair.

A BBC spokeswoman said Williams had acted quickly to get Christie to sit down, adding that because he was on live TV there was little she could have done.

A BBC spokesman described the incident as "a playful, lighthearted moment and a reminder of the unpredictability of live television".

Despite being briefed by staff on Breakfast as to what he could and could not say and do, the man appeared to ignore their guidance as he dropped his trousers.

So they put someone who claims to be a 'professional protester' on live, national television. Did they really not consider that it might just be in the realms of possibility that he could pull some kind of stunt? Okay, so it wasn't an especially serious incident, but it does seem like rather stupid thinking on the part of the Breakfast team.

Missed the stunt, but noticed that at 8.55 Sian mentioned about news continuing on News24, and introduced the weather for N24, after a pause they continued saying what was coming up after 9 on one

Just wondered how long has this happened when News24 splits away to do separate weather?

Started Monday to try to signpost viewers to 24 and to make more sence for the 24 audience.

Or perhaps a bit of brilliant thinking, gaining a load of free publicity.

It's been going longer than that as it was definitely on last week and maybe on the week before.

Errr no it wasn't - as I said - it started monday.

By the way - expect a new NewsBelt presenter coming to Breakfast from the regions in October! Let the speculation begin! (It's no-one from London!) Wink Very Happy

Maybe it'll be a man. I hope it is, I'm fed up of this PC bollocks about it always being a woman.

Maybe it'll be Peter Levy. I mean, it's not as if his show will still be on by then, and we can't see him unemployed now can we?
