Yes, that's a good plan, though I do think Bill/Sian are a great double-act.

Wonder how "Breakfast Lite" from N24 is going down in Scotland where it isn't a Bank Holiday?

No regional weather in Breakfast this morning - aren't they doing it anymore?

Which region are you in?

I thought Breakfast this morning was dire. Sarah Campbell wasn't bad, but any attempt she made to smile at Simon McCoy was put down as he was intent on being the serious journalist and made very forced ad-lib during the sports section after 8 30 before telling Sue Thearle to "get on with it". The material was all pants, all in all a poor show.

And I don't think Bill and Sian are the "dream team" any more... they've lost their sparkle slightly... however they are the furthest back pairing Breakfast has got, so they've still got something left.

There was here, with Helen Willets.

Talking about Scotland, I wonder what they think about news-lite all day on a Bank Holiday they don't have, especially Reporting Scotland reducing to just 10 mins!

I'd imagine they'd be bloody elated

Today's programme could have been better and out of interest was the talking over each other (around 8.10) a genuine mistake at first all though then again doesn't it say the presenter's name on the autocue?

I agree with you, ever since Sian moved to the Six, on the whole a more serious news bulletin, I think Sian has lost her 'sparkle' and Bill and Sian aren't really that good any more. It has been quite a while though since Bill and Sian were last presenting together isn't it?
To be honest I think Bill and Kate are the new 'dream team' so to speak with them both performing brilliantly last week.

I haven't seen Breakfast in ages, so I can't really comment on what Bill and Sian are like anymore. However, it can't be attributed to her presenting more on the Six now - she's been presenting "serious" news bulletins for the BBC since the late Virtual Era days. I remember she regularly did weekend bulletins after the 1999 re-launch, and also stood in on the Six when both Huw and Fiona were unavailable.

Sian was also a regular News 24 presenter back in the launch days of 1997 i seem to remember.

And prior to the launch of News 24 Sian was a senior producer behind the scenes. She was originally going to be a producer behind the scenes at News 24, but sensibly someone suggested she screen-test for a presenting role, and she moved in front of the camera as a result.

As a result - not only is Sian a great presenter, she is also a very sensible editorial figure, not an annoying one, and she doesn't "back seat produce"

Expect to see a new face in the Moira seat later this week.
