yesterday when she said goodbye Natasha said she'd see us tomorrow (which is today)
I think she's been off sick as it doesn't look like a presenter was lined up what with moira doing 6.30am till 7am and then Sian taking over. Had it been prearranged leave Sian would have been on from 6.30 am.
wonder if she's eloped or got morning sickness already??

I always thought they kept a backup presenter on sight. The time last year when Moira was ill Jules Botfield arrived less than an hour later to do the news summary. Besides surely the N24 presenters would be in at that time getting ready and getting up to date with what's happening. You would have thought that one of them would have taken over, either on the sofa or on the newsdesk.
Saying that Susanna Reid told us last week on Tuesday that she was back tomorrow with Simon McCoy and in fact it was Natasha with Susanna on N24 at 09.00

i think it's nice when they jumble the newsreaders up. i think it keeps them on their toes and not too complacent in their current roles.
i didn't see natasha on N24 but I'm very pleased that it may be the case that N24 starts making more use of the BBC1 newsreaders instead of them being used exclusively on that channel.
i notice on the ITV newschannel they have their top presenters, ie Katie Derham, Nina Hossain etc also working on the satellite channel and i think this also gives us value for money.

The above post from r2ro was a bit ambiguous:
Natasha didn't present on N24 (and AFAIK never has) - she presented Breakfast with Simon McCoy. Susanna Reid presented on N24 at 9:00.

I apologise if I didn't make my point clear. I meant that Susanna said she would be back on the next day's breakfast but instead it was Natasha on Breakfast and Susanna was on N24 at 9.00.

I have to comment on the choice of camera angles on this morning's programme. There seemed to give more variation than the standard ones used. Firstly, at 7.30 ahead of the regional news, instead of zooming out with the aerial shot of the studio, the camera instead went to the right hand side of the sofa area and was flat on the ground with the sofa area on the right and Moira's newsdesk on the left. It could be improved further were a television screen placed between the newsdesk and the sofa area.
Then later on Dermot was introducing an interview and instead the camera was behind the upcoming guest with their back on the left hand side and Dermot on the right introducing.
Much better camera angles - I just hope that they keep on using them. Did anyone else notice the difference.

It's about time they got a bit of variety into their camera angles. If you've got mobile cameras, you might as well use them constructively.
I'm looking forward to when they finally move into the N24 studio. I'd expect a similar format to News 24 Sunday, with Moira at the desk and sofas over in the Sport pod to the right hand side for the main presentation of the programme.
They've shown it can be done with the relaunched Sportsday and News 24 Sunday
