I seriously doubt that Silverton will be invited to present Breakfast during Sian's leave.

If they were looking for an internal candidate, Susanna Reid could take over the week days and (unfortunately) Sonia Deol would end up on with Charlie.

Fiona Trott

Credible? I know someone who knows Fiona Trott and apparently she's as thick as two short planks. That sort of thing would become apparent in the "chit-chat" atmosphere of Breakfast TV.

well, controversially, i like sonia and she has a good rapport inbetween items on handovers and such.

i've never taken to susannah and find her too nurseryschool teacherish.

would sian come back after having the baby as she'll then have a 2yr old and a newborn as i believe she is a very good producer of progs and obviously now babies Smile

Presumably by being thick you get a national correspondent's role on the national BBC news (although where is she based? She reports - or did until at least April - for Look North from Newcastle, but I've seen her reporting from as far away as Norwich.) Sounds like someone is jealous!

Fiona Trott did a stint at BBC Manchester for North West Tonight a few years ago. She also regularly presented the breakfast bulletins too. I'm fairly certain she's based in one of the northern regions.

I'd also like to see Fiona Trott. She's warm ad friendly and has that approach appropriate for breakfast. Since she left NWT there hasn't been a decent breakfas lady o since. She was always very smiley and warm in the mornings, the rest of them have just sat there gone "Good morning" in a stale manner. So yes someone should give Fiona a chance!!

Julia George is a great presenter. Around 2002/2003 she seemed to be the main relief for Natasha and Sian, but since then has made very few appearances. Perhaps she prefers reporting?

I think Sonia Deol has improved during the year, probably presenting best when she was with Noel Thompson.

I've never seen Sonia Deol. Is Julia George the lady that used to call herself Jules Botfield? I thought she was very good and was sad when she stopped presenting the show, much better than quite a few of her replacements.

She had a stint on the weekend shows a couple of months ago. Originally a presenter on BBC Asian Network. I like her, she's got an endearing habit of opening her mouth, just before engaging the brain, which means you get to see what's probably her true personality rather than any 'front'.

Yes, I think she now mainly works on BBC London Radio.

Nope, she's a reporter, full time, on Breakfast.

The question is does Julia George prefer reporting or did they move her to a reporting role? I ask because she was very good presenting the programme and I don't know why they would make such a significant change.
