Do you know if Pesch is coming into London for a few weeks in the Summer, to cover for presenter vacations, etc?? He has done so for the last couple of years, although it was Michael Buerk who did the Summer stint last year, IIRC. (on Breakfast)

Sorry don't know, but I doubt it, he was last here in Summer 2003, but then he IIRC only presented the main weekday show once or twice, and was relegated to the weekend for the rest of his time over, and Michael actually did it 2 years ago - only seems like yesterday!

Last year we had Simon McCoy, as well as the usual Dermot and Bill, for most of the summer except for the week where we had Natasha Kaplinsky and Mishal Hussein. Let's hope that doesn't happen again!
In 2003 we also had Jon Sopel presenting (I'm sure he was the main back-up presenter before Simon McCoy) as well as the two Michael's. We occasionly saw Rob Bonnet presenting in 2003 IIRC.
Great to see Mishal Hussain back, I take it she will replace Susanna when she goes on maternity leave. Ironic that Susanna replaced Mishal when she went on leave.
I thought that with Kate Silvertons recent apperances she might have replaced Susanna, but am glad to see Mishal back, hopefully will become a regular thing
I've noticed for a while now that whenever Breakfast comes from the N24 studio, the tower always animates at the beginning of the titles. It's not too bad with the Breakfast Clock as it blends in and is significantly smaller than the tower but the tower stands out and covers up part of the titles. Why do they do this?
Presumably the automation instruction to put the tower on is on that event in the schedule template.
I would have thought it's because the breakfast team seem completly incompetant when they use the News 24 studio.

Last time I saw Mishal on Breakfast she resembled a beached whale, I was suprised she could get up off the sofa. Just how big was her baby?

With the excellent Kate as well as Mishal and Susanna on the scene, it seems Breakfast have an excess of female presenters. All three of these are excellent and could easily replace Natasha and/or Sian.

Indeed, Sian as good as she is, seems to have lost the *magic* touch she used to have.
On a presenter-related note, Dermot seems much, much better on the Six than on Breakfast - time for him to move there permenantly IMO.

Mishal is still making appearances here on World as well. Maybe she'll combine the roles.
Agree with the comments above about Sian having lost her "zipp" a little bit.
As I have noted on another thread, it seems that this last week was vacation week or training week at all the major channels, with regular anchors doing bizarre shifts or not being there at all. I noticed a distinct lack of regaulr faces and rostering on Sky, CNNI, BBC World. Cannot comment about N24 or ITN. However, am sure it's just a coincidence!!
And to confirm my theory, you guys have confirmed above that Mishal is on Breakfast!!
Natasha is the best breakfast presenter by far - i love her interviews and enjoyed seeing her interview that junior maestro on Thursday although gotta say he had more front that Brighton Beach!
as for Dermot - i agree he's better suited to the 6pm news - he's just too serious and uncomfortable on Breakfast. Simon works very well with Natasha as does Bill.
Kate Silverton was really good on her Breakfast stints and I really hope she does start doing more of them. I can't watch Susannah or Mishal I'm afraid - they don't have a screen presence - imho
