A question...

When News 24 moves home, will they opt for the sofa for weekend breakfast to tie it in with weekday breakfast?

I suppose that will be dependant upon how flexible the sofa is, however also do they have anyone around to re-set studios. The sofa could possible work for News 24 perhaps for Sportsday.

Why would they? Weekday Breakfast is going to stay in TC7 permanently as is the Six, its not moving back to N6 like the One and Ten are with News 24.

Indeed it is, but my thinking was with them about to move into a similar set to TC7, they could easily recreate the Breakfast studio to link all of the Breakfast programmes (weekday and weekend) together. They're currently using Breakfast branding, but in the News 24 studio.

I suspect this will continue, breakfast branding in the new shared N6 - will be cheaper, assuming the new set does not have a sofa Wink

But we don't know what the set in N6 will look like after the changes. I imagine, from a purely logistical point of view, that it won't be very flexible as far as studio furniture goes because of the size and almost constant usage.

They've used the "Breakfast" branding in the weekend slot for years in N8. That's what ties the programme together as a strand across 7 days, not the studio they are in.

I don't see a problem with "Breakfast" coming from N6 at the weekend in the future with the re-vamped N24 appearance. Despite the branding it's a different programme at the weekend.

On those occasions when N24 has used N6 during maintenance in N8 they kept the fake N8 background rather than switching to the Breakfast graphics.

Another new presenter this weekend, with Sonia Deol joining Charlie according to the RT.

For those that are interested Sonia presented both Saturday (between 7-10) and Sunday including The Andrew Marr Show update.

It's good to see some new presenters on the screen although this will no doubt just be temporary whilst Susannah Reid is at the Oscars.

Also I felt both Sonia and Sophie came across as shouting a bit; perhpas they could have done with being a bit more relaxed and softer whilst presenting.

She was awful. Her ponderous, patronising style was much worse.

I preferred Sophie to Sonia.

Sophie was alright, but I thought Sonia was pretty bad - as has already been said she didn't seem comfortable.
