Because I heard they're screentesting and shortlisting NOW!
Are you sure they're replacing Dermot with someone other than Bill? It was announced in October that Dermot was leaving, so there was plenty of time to find someone in between then and Dermot leaving at the end of December. Why leave it till now?

There will be a very good reason why Ben has been working with Louise over the last couple of weeks, with Jon on evenings on News 24...I wonder what it could be.

He's one of the lead presenters, and one of the most senior - he's not being tested for anything... I do, however, agree that I hope Jon & Louise partnership remains intact.
Jon and Joanna could be good too though.
I thought initially they'd moved Jon to the evenings because of his knowledge of US Politics with the US elections this year. He'd be covering 2pm-5pm US time rather than 9am-noon US time, which is his usual slot.

Great reaction - obviously a Bill fan then. I never said that he didn't want it and that seems like a sound explanation but whatever he want's they are looking for a replacement (for Dermot that is
