The old Breakfast Time set has been re-created this morning for the 25 year anniversary.

They've just said that they'll be in the "studio that Breakfast Time used to come from" for the last 40 minutes of the programme. Bit difficult that, as Breakfast Time came from Lime Grove which was demolished in the early 90s and is now a fairly anonymous housing estate. I assume they mean they've recreated the set in TC7 or maybe the old N2 (now TC11)? Or are the guilty of doing what a lot of people on this very site do, and are confusing the terms "Studio" and "Set"?

Breakfast Time moved to TC2 in 1988. But it looks like TC7, the set is virtual, on the screens, but it works well.

Nice to see the bowen raworth era i the days were they had the best set and format Smile
Ithink it is TC7 which has the baking tray out.

I notice they've re-created the Breakfast Time clock.

As I thought they would, they completely skipped over 7 years of the programme. Their retrospective package featured Breakfast Time in 1983 and 1988, Breakfast News in 1989, and Breakfast in 2000, 2003 and 2006. Sadly, they completely missed out the 1993-1997 virtual era and the 1997-2000 kites era. I think too much emphasis was placed on the 2000s - I can understand them looking at Breakfast in 2000, but why on Earth did they look back on 2003 and current sets? They're hideous.

Is anyone able to get some captures of this morning's proceedings? I also hope they make reference to two of the greatest names to be associated with Breakfast and who - for totally different reasons - are no longer associated with the programme.

I am referring to Moira Stuart and Jill Dando.

As the archive clips go, it's a pity the 90s was largely ignored, a bit more balance in that respect wouldn't have hurt.

The set change though (and the clock change!) has been a very welcome one; nice idea.

Umm, you're pretty much always referring to Moira. Wink

Jill Dando was seen in a clip of Breakfast News from 1989 (when she presented with Nicholas Witchell) but her contributions in the 1990s were completely ignored.

Moira swatting the "big fly" was featured.

I was particularly looking forward to seeing the 1990s, as that's when I started watching. I wasn't born when it started in 1983, so that era didn't mean much to me. I was hoping to see the virtual era again. It always seems as though the BBC is embarrassed about the virtual era - it never gets a look-in in retrospectives.

Another crime...was no mention of Sally Magnusson! Part of the programme for more than a decade, a not even a look in - strange considering she's still with the Beeb!
