Why?

Ha Ha!! because it's a geeky thing to do and that's why we're all on this forum!! Laughing

Yeah, but there's geekiness and then there's geekiness. This forum is primarily concerned with titles, graphics and studios. Most people here will be able to tell you when Breakfast News became Breakfast, its various set changes, when it moved to N6 etc... Some wish to talk about presenters aswell. That's fine. The aforementioned majority will be able to tell you about presenters of Breakfast and Breakfast News back to the 1980s, when Bowen and Raworth were replaced by Murnaghan and Kaplinsky, and various stand-ins down through the years. This in and of itself is tremendously geeky, and I am unashamedly part of it.

But what you are suggesting tips the balance firmly into the territory of OCD. Please don't pursue it. It's not interesting.

How about you keep a list purely in your head. That way, we don't have to endure it clogging up the threads here.

Anyone want to give their fantasy daily schedule for the next 12 months?

That should keep them occupied.

Let's hope that more effort is put into the BBC's celebration than GMTV did on their website offering. Rather sloppy to include the Sky Sunrise anchor in your "presenter group-shot". It's not like he only left last week is it? Shocked

Ooh, that sounds good. Let's hope they delve into the archive - back into the virtual era days and before. I hope they don't just go right back to the start in 1983 and then skip back to the 2000s.

Mmm...they do have a tendancy to talk warmly of the '83-86 era, then skip over the harder news years in an almost child like way - as in they were boring...no one watched, then we became 'Breakfast' and isnt it great!

Hopefully someone will be able to capture that morning and put parts up on youtube

Wonder if any of the old presenters will make an appearance on the sofa?

I hope they talk of competition too!

There are some rumours around that Simon Mayo is doing to do a trial presenting Breakfast on BBC One... no idea if it's true or when, but he'd be a huge loss to Five Live if he does go.

EDIT: I see some of the blogs are talking about this - ie. http://www.iaindale.blogspot.com/

Hmmmm. Interesting. Seems to be more than a rumour.

I reckon he'd be good - although where does he stand with the whole 'BBC Newsreaders need to be journalists' debate?

Well it could work I suppose, seeing as Breakfast isn't a regular 'serious news' show. Is anywhere else reporting these rumours?
