[Not as bad as last Christmas when it said George and Natasha would be presenting the late bulletin for a week together.

You remember errors in the Radio Times from a year ago? How depressing.

Did anyone just see them plugging the "Sports review of the year" on news 24, and use the old orange strips logo of 24.

Apologies if I have missed this, but have the BEEB announced who'll be stepping into Dermot's shoes yet?

Nope. To be honest it looks like they might not bother to make an announcement at all, so I assume Bill in the week and Charlie at the weekend. If an outsider was going to come it would have been announced and if someone like Simon was going to takeover they'd probably have been given a 'practice run' over the festive period, but only Charlie and Bill have been on.

Unless they're currently in negotiations with someone and can't announce it yet? (This is pure speculation - I have no inside information).

Why the hell would they be given a "practice run"? They're professionals who can read an autocue, ask questions and read out comments from brain-dead viewers, surely that's enough?

Indeed. People don't seem to realise that they can in fact do a whole programme without it actually going out on air! It's called a pilot....
