Do Breakfast still do the Breakfast Takeaway - the podcast of the headlines?

Not seen it being plugged for a while?

No, it stopped when the BBC stopped it's trial of video podcasting a few months ago.

So how is Dermot's last day going so far? Any flash-backs to his 90's dress sense with those huge shoulder pads??? LOL

I hope Sky don't ruin him. He is a highly credible presenter and Sky tends to dumb-down people after a while.

Good luck, Dermot.

They played a tribute at 6.55am this morning, looking at his best bits. Some interesting facts were being scrolled across the screen.

Good luck to Dermot in his new career (though he was a bit dull on Breakfast wasn't he?!)

Strangely, I think he's been at his best over the past couple of months since the announcement that he was leaving. He just seems to have been more relaxed and natural. I suppose once you know you're going, you don't have to be on your best behaviour anymore. Maybe he was always trying too hard before then.

Yea, I agree - I especially noticed that this morning, I guess that was because it was his LAST day, but yes - much more welcoming in the past few months,

Any mention of who will replace him?

Not really appropriate time when your saying farewell to the main anchor really, is it?!

Well, yes , actually, one may state that it is the best time to introduce the new anchor.

For example:
"Dermot Murnaghan has been with us for five years, blah blah blah {cue video clip} and as of Monday, Bill Turnbull will be with me, Sian Williams, for breakfast every weekday, Bill has, blah, blah, blah" and so on.

Quite effective I think.

According to the Radio Times - another error!! Not as bad as last Christmas when it said George and Natasha would be presenting the late bulletin for a week together.
