Just out of interest is Dermot still at Breakfast or has he left yet? Also, who's covering for Sian at the moment? Kate, Susanna or Louise. Is it me or does Susanna very rarely cover during the week? Why are we paying Louise and Kate to be relief presenters if there's someone else who can do it?

Dermot is still on Breakfast, at least he was this morning anyway.

Susannah does sometimes fill in during the week, but to be fair, she is the weekend presenter. You don't see Huw Edwards filling in at weekends, do you?

The thing about newsreaders, unless they're freelance, is that they are contracted to do so many hours during the year. It isn't a case of BBC bosses thinking 'oh, we'll give her a go this week'. It boils down to set numbers of hours over the year. If you were only contracted to work so many days per year, would you work more than is necessary?

No but surely it would work out better to have an official, regular presenter on during the week rather than weekend! And in all fairness someone like Sophie raworth makes appearences on weekends when she anchors the 1!

Is Kate Silverton filling in for Sian at the moment? And when is the Six going single headed because I miss Sian!

The Six goes solo next Monday, and Sian returns to Breakfast on the same day, presenting Monday to Thursday, with her presenting the Six on Friday.

A good decision IMO to make Sian the deputy for the Six (she was breifly in 1999 and then when Fiona went on leave, later she was main presenter during Sophie's leave).

I am not sure whether William has been made co-anchor of Breakfast yet - if he is this will usher in a fantstic era of the programme. He and Sian, and Charlie and Suzie have perfect chemistry. This could even beat the Sophie/Jeremy combination.

Slightly surprised Louise is still on the one as deputy, and I also thought Fiona may have moved on this year.

PS - has the 20:00 bulletin been scrapped? I work most evenings so haven't looked, but it hasnt been mentioned here for a while.

Arrow Bill isn't Co-anchor yet because apparently Dermot's still around
Arrow I'm suprised about Louise on the one too! I'm just hoping she doesn't get the one when Sophie leaves (for maternity)
Arrow Has Sian been officially confirmed as deputy anchor on the six?
Arrow If so this probably leaves Kate in line for the one! Then Carrie's on News 24, Sians on Breakfast and the Six and Louise is relief/ deputy for the One and Breakfast.

Is that when it moves into TC7 then? Would make sense for them to move at the same time as going single headed.

Yeh I think it should but other people have said more likely Jan/ Feb.

Can anyone confirm...
Arrow if Sian is the new deputy anchor of the six?
Arrow Ben Brown is the official relief on the six?
Arrow Bill moves to Dermots job in January?
Arrow Charlie moves to Bill's job?

or is this all just babbling wiki?

Because removing a keyboard and one chair really requires the studio change to be made then doesn't it? Rolling Eyes

When Dermot leaves, I'd have the BBC News rota as follows (I was trying to be funny with the Ben Brown one - obviously didn't work out!)

Arrow Bill and Sian as main presenters of Breakfast, with Charlie and Susanna being their deputies. Simon and Kate would cover
Arrow Sophie continuing on the One, with Sian Williams as her deputy. Jane Hill would cover. When Soph goes on maternity leave, Sian would be made main presenter, with Jane as deputy, and maybe Louise/Emily as cover
Arrow George would continue solo with the Six, with Bill as his deputy. Nicholas Owen would cover (I actually think he's fantastic compared to Ben bloody Brown)
Arrow Huw and Fiona carry on with the Ten, with Jon Sopel covering
Arrow The weekend/bank holiday news would also have a regular presenter, with maybe Simon, Emily or Mishal getting the job
