BBC Breakfast

If Dermot and Natasha don't present on the day of the Election i'll eat my hat - they will - yes the Pope is big news - but a British Election is huge - and they will be in on May 6th - Jeremy and Sophie did in 2001, and Justin Webb in 1997, with Laurie and Nick in 1992 IIRC.

Much as i would like Bill and Sian to - they probably won't - unless they are out 'on the road' on Election results morning.

I noticed this morning there was no newsreader - just Bill and Sian doing the other news stories, well certainly after 8 - i take it that there was no newsreader pre 8am this morning.

IMO the programme should be like this all the time - there is no need for the newsreader.

I agree, but where would Moira go ? I doubt we'll see her on any other BBC1 bulletin, and with Frosty finishing, she would have no airtime at all.

Moira is old-school BBC. I wish there was more like her. Im sick to death with newsreaders "interacting". I don't want some gobby cow from the south who can't read an autocue without stopping and laughing every 3 minutes, I want someone who know's how to use proper english, effectivly.
Moira, Anna Ford and Peter Sissions are some of the Beeb best presenters and are under-used.
Someone somewhere thought it would be a good idea to give Peter a slot on News 24, a slot which isn't sutied to him.
Moira and Anna should take the One, with Peter and Micheal on the Ten.
Alright I know im somewhat dreaming here but I really am annoyed at this culture which is appearing of "celebrity" newsreaders over professionism.

On another note, Peter Sissions is rumoured to be taking over from Frost, Sissions on Sunday, and Moira is still retained as newsreader.

Also why is she not on Breakfast? Holiday Time?

She was there on Monday and Tuesday, but not on Wednesday because of the live OB after the election had been called. She never does Thursday or Friday.

I think on results day, Dermot should be live outside Westminster, Natasha inside the Election Bus then Bill, Sian and Declan at hard fought constituencies.

Isn't Dermot doing the coverage of the Royal Wedding? Considering that his holiday has been cut short to go to Rome and then there's the Royal Wedding he would have had today off anyway.

I agree that Moira, and any other news reader, is wasted behind the newsdesk. If they need it then they should have the sports presenter using it for sport and a headline update every fifteen minutes. Then Sophie Raworth should move onto the one and then Moira onto the six. I do like the aerial camera shot of just the sofa though, it doesn't make the studio look half empty.

It is interesting to see a slightly change in format on Sunday's Breakfast...
Apart from weather moved to :15, just like the weekday did, the sports headlines did the same normal way as seen on News24...
Good to see Sian and Bill again...
