I do like him...definately a rising star...think he could be ideal in a daytime News 24 slot

Hasn't Breakfast had quite a few young presenters pass through it's doors? I am thinking of Emily Maitlis, Sophie Raworth, Jon Nicolson, Charlie Stayt, Gillian Joseph, Mishal Husain, Moira Stuart....

this morning the first weather broadcast at 6.20am was from inside the studio by a regionalpresenter. I breathed a sigh of relief......the beeb have come to their senses. Alas, come 7am and there she was Carol in Glouc. It makes me made - give us the weather from the studion for gawdsake.

Matt Barbet is great on Breakfast. Preferable to Charlie Stayt. I hope they keep him as a regular relief presenter for Bill.

Indeed, can't believe there haven't been more comments left over the weekend. Matt Barbett was relaxed cool but still with authority over the weekend on Breakfast.

Pity he was sat next to Suzannah Reid! Put Matt and Kate on Breakfast, they would work together well I reckon.

Well Matt is used to Breakfast shifts. He used to be the Breakfast News Presenter on BBC Radio One before moving to BBC London.

He was certainly there during the Sara Cox Breakfast Show era (and maybe before that even). Not sure if he was part of Zoe Balls as well.
