I think the BBC should try to make N8 more breakfast like if it refuses to move it into N6,can all of the red bits of N8 not be changed to orange.

That's would be very expensive and impractical given that the studio is used immediately after the programme with only a 3 minute break for weather and trailers.

Far simpler to call the programme "Weekend 24" again and continue with the N24 astons/titles and N8 as the base for the simulcast.

For Sundays "Breakfast" could go under the name "NEWS 24 SUNDAY" (with the brilliant music) and perhaps "Weekend 24" for Saturdays, just for a bit of change.

It used to be called Weekend 24 on Saturdays during the cream and red era, which ended up just being the same as Breakfast except with the N24 titles and going through until 10.00.

As for the N24 Sunday idea, what would happen in the summer when Andrew Marr has a break? Would you have the Breakfast style programme going from 06.00-10.00 like Saturday and what would happen to all the in-depth analysis of the news that used to happen in N24 Sunday?

IMO they should keep it the same or if it had to be changed just simply call it Weekend Breakfast using the N24 presentation style.

If you look here the presentation style of weekend 24 from the presenters is exactley the same as breakfast.

breakfast became 7 days a week in november 2002 after the departure of sophie.the good thing about the old N24 Set was that they could put the breakfast logo on the plasma and on the newsroom screens behind.

Does anyone know if Dermot is to leave Breakfast, this morning Sian said to Enrique Inglesias that Breakfast was looking for a new male presenter, followed by Dermot 'saying that you have not got rid of me just yet'. What i was unclear about was whether this was normal bantar, or if he let slip something he should not have.

Yeah, I saw that too - it was hard to tell whether it was just the usual *banter* or something more to it....

thinking about it, despite Dermots lack of ease presenting the prog (though he is better than at first) he must be one of the progs longest serving principal anchors? Frank Bough was there 4 years, Nick Witchell was about 5 years, as was Justin Webb...and its 5 years this Autumn for Dermot too (hard to beleive its been that long!) Well male anchor...lets not forget Sally Magnusson was on it for more than 10 years - IIRC she still was appearing on the prog in 1999(she did the Election morning after the Welsh/Scot elections me thinks...)

From what I understand Kate is not one of the main presenters. And I would prefer Louise to be one of them. I wish Dermot would stay on but if he wants to move on, I hope he's going to be on the 10.

Kate should be a main presenter with bill on the weekdays with charlie and suzzanah on weekends

Kate and bill did a great job of the show last week and it would be intresting to see what it would look like if they were the two main presenters

WHAT!!! What about Sian - she's much better than Kate any day.

On the other hand, Susanna Reid is too patronising and all so Kate should take over from her, and Carrie from her. I think Jane Hill should be the deputy anchor of the One/ relief on the six, maybe (if you had to) put Susanna in her current position.

I read somewhere that BBC News' operations is expected be moved to Broadcasting House in 2009-2011. Having this in mind, Breakfast may not be able to move to N8 but can share their studio as News 24 when their space is ready at the said time. Let's hope those planning the renovation have this in mind.
