I think that would look great having a window view over London. It would give the programme a different feel to it. Breakfast has always kept with the corporate BBC News look since it begun in 2000.
If they had this new look they should have different opening titles and graphics. Make it seperate from BBC News like GMTV is seperate from ITV1? Just a thought?
I'd definitely not like an obvious London view for Breakfast (a la Sunday AM). A view over Westminster is appropriate for a political programme, but would make the programme look too London-centric for a national breakfast programme.
Having said that, I wouldn't mind a 'morning' version of the standard BBC News backdrop which isn't so obviously London.
I don't really mind the current backdrop as it blends in to the rest of the presentation but I think the best backdrop was that in 2002-2003 with the yellow walls and blue windows. I think the use of the plasma screens also helped the set out but obviously they're no longer needed considering they can be placed on the backdrop. I did like the larger desk of that era with sofas as it showed there was formality but a chance to have lighter stories too, obviously now there are two separate sets which to me shows that there are two parts to the programme that are individual to each other. Though that worked in the first era, it doesn't work now because the presenters are constantly changing between the two.
I actually wouldn't mind seeing Breakfast come from the old (different in the soon-to-be-aired series) 'The One Show' set - smaller and 'cosy' but with a personal feel to it. And is it me or is the orange of the current set and titles to bright for mornings, at least the last set was a dark red on white/creamy background...

TBH I wouldn't be surprised if
the One Show
found itself shoved into TC7 or a generic set like that.
I actually like the orange, but IMO there should be something to contrast against it... like a sky blue...
Breakfast currently coming from the News24 studio, with a "BBC News" DOG but no clock, on BBC1.
EDIT: the clock has come back now on BBC1 after the weather
Isn't it technically the 'weekend' now, so 'Breakfast' would be from N24?
I guess Monday would be N24 too, so N6 wouldn't return until Tuesday morning, but why, if that is the case, didn't Auntie Beeb time it's BBC 1 Easter bullys to coincide with N24 timings, so save even more money, or am I being too simplistic?
It makes the studio look bigger i think .
But some how people think it looks to cold
I loved that background, much more nicer and fresh. Great to wake up in the morning, I agree the set looks so much bigger than it actually is! I wish people didn't say it looked cold - because thats why the Beeb changed it to what it is now.

Indeed, I would argue that that screen shot makes the studio look quite warm and welcoming. The blue skies with white fluffy clouds makes it feel like a warm summer day. It was far better than what they use as a backdrop now.
