Does anyone else think the way they have changed the last regional news bulletin to just after 9, the past couple of weeks makes the last 45 minutes disjointed. At first i thought i was because the interviews had overrun, but it now seems to be a regular occurance, today's bulltein was not on until 9.05. I think it would be better to have the bulletin either at 8:58 or at 9:11. This would either mean there would be a full 15 minutes left of the programme in the first instance, or in the second, the regions hand back to Breakfast to find out what is coming up on tomorrow's programme. At present it just feels rushed and disjointed.

For me the only gripe I have is the irregularity between the desk and sofa. I'd like to see it start from the desk everyday and then make their way over to the sofa at some point.

The trouble is, you can only fit a limited number of guests at the desk. This morning at about 6.15, they were interviewing two IVF parents who were on with their three children and an IVF expert. I'd have liked to have seen them try to fit all of them around the desk.

They won't fit - you cant get the camera shots and you cant light them. Its all to do with the shorter right hand wall in N6 and the fact that its not as wide as TC7.

Without meaning to dig myself into a hole, I think the best thing they have done with breakfast was to axe moira stuart.

Not that the lady herself was the problem, but that handing to a number three for the news made the progoramme very disjointed, the flow is much better now and more newsier.

Twelve months ago, I used to cringe at breakfast, looking as if it was coming from Natasha Kaplinsky's bedroom, and presented by Natasha Kaplinsky. It is much, much warmer and a pleasant sart to the morning now, and Declan remains fantastic with the business.

Granted, we have just gone through a rough patch with Kate Silverton as main co-presenter, but now that Sian's back we can hopefully move on!

I think the new teams work well too, Bill and Sian were brilliant but Dermot/Sian and Bill/Susanna are also excellent.

Don't worry! I can't stand her! I don't know why people seem to love her so much.

I think one of the reasons people love her is because she has been a "national treasure" for so many years.

Although I feel she is a good journalist and newscaster (the term Newsreader sounds like they're a waste of time) however I feel her time on Breakfast was a waste both of taxpayer's money as well as her time.

What if the first hour or so was actually branded as BBC News or Breakfast News coming strait from the desk, with the rest coming from the sofas (although I feel a new type of sofa could work - hate the half-oval effect) with just one presenter reading the news at regular intervals from the sofas.

The backdrop also needs changing - btw is the newsnight/ newsround/ working lunch/ Sportsround studio smaller (it seems it) - what if Breakfast was to come from there? I think a smaller space is what is needed as well the new background - keep the theme tune though but different graphics...

Could the interview not have come later in the programme?

I understand the pitfalls you highlight (especially with the camera and lighting work) but for me Breakfast was always structured better having a deadicated 'summary' of news - purely having a story read out and a report or live link - at the start of the programme and then moving onto other areas such as analysis and interviews.

I suppose this is a harking back to the days of Raworth and Bowen's studio. It seemed to have a very well defined set with served it's respective purpose of being authorative with the desk and then lighter and more relaxed in the leather sofas.

For me, Breakfast seems a bit lost at the moment. It has no real purpose, compared to previous incarnations of the programme. This is not a problem which has emerged overnight but stems much further back from it's days in N9. For me there is nothing especially distinct about the programme, something which I suppose you need if it's not simply a news bulletin.

I agree the programme might as well be called 'News 24 Lite'. It needs to be much more than a copy of all other BBC News output.

Breakfast currently coming from the News24 studio, with a "BBC News" DOG but no clock, on BBC1.

News24 has in-vision signing and has a DOG with the clock but it's at the bottom of the screen rather than at the bottom of the studio output and astons are appearing full screen rather than shrunk into the picture that is being signed.

EDIT: the clock has come back now on BBC1 after the weather

Does anyone else think Breakfast would look a lot better with the London skyline backdrop, rather than what they are using just now?

Absolutely! Nice warm glow added perhaps...it would look much better than what we've got just now IMO.

Yes, possibly similar to that of Sunday AM now. Or would that make it look too similar?
