Just who IS that grumpy looking woman alongside Dermot Morningham, above?

Louise Minchin, does 2-5 on News 24 with Jon Sopel.

Perhaps she's looking "grumpy" (I'd call it serious) because they're reading the news. A happy smiley face isn't really appropriate when you're talking about the murder of three innocent young women.

Point taken. Sorry. Embarassed

They were hookers, actually. "Innocent young women" paints a slightly different picture.

Nonetheless, a horrible news story.

They weren't guilty of any crime, therefore they were innocent.

Other than soliciting and prostitution, obviously.

all i can say is hurry back sian and looking back natasha wasn't as bad as all that - much better than kate & susannah. natasha wasn't the best at small talk or ad libing but she did a fair job at presenting and i miss her. i've noticed sophie doing the 1 and then doing a follow-on stint on n24 and she really suits rolling news and seems a really nice girl. Most importantly i'm getting value for money from my licence - why should the best presenters just be given ivory tower jobs?

I think when natasha's contract is up they should make it a condition she does 4pm - 6pm on n24 and then the 6pm news - she's earning too much for too little at the moment and it does cause a bit of resentment.

All sounds a bit heavy for Breakfast, could they not have had a phone in competition instead? Don't want to hear about that kind of thing eating my muesli

Oh, sorry. I didn't know they'd been arrested, tried and found guilty. Now I know that I'm glad they were put to death - more room in the prisons now. Rolling Eyes

Not quite sure why you are taking this so poorly, Moz. They were prostitutes even according to the report the cap was taken from this morning.

They don't need to be convicted to make them hookers. They simply were.

I'm sure you don't for a minute infer that I think they are better off dead.

That's a rather poor retort, if you don't mind me saying.

I expect the tree will make an appearance in the News 24 studio this weekend however, during Breakfast. Although arn't News 24 meant to have there decorations up longer than 4 days this year.

I may be wrong but of those two, I thought only soliciting was illegal? It's beside the point anyway...

Well it is normally a photograph, but today during the trailer i noticed cars moving in the background, so they have probably switched to a recorded background, which is good as it makes better use of the screens that make the set.

I think the point is this:

In the context of what's happened to them their profession is irrelevant. The fact that they're prostitutes/working girls/hookers has no bearing on anything - they are murder victims - innocent young women.
