Sorry guys, I think this has been mentioned before but I dont see why Breakfast cant be presented from N6 7 days a week. I know people have said that the reason why the Saturday lunchtime buletin comes from News 24 is because Sportround has the studio but im sure Sportsround comes from TC11 so N6 would be free. It would be good to have a uniform look for Breakfast all week round. It was also good to read in Broadcast the other week that Breakfast is neck and neck with GMTV, to me Breakfast has come on leaps and bounds and is getting better and better.

Doesn't N6's gallery need more people to operate than N8, meaning it's cheaper to have breakfast coming from the N24 set at the weekend.

Reasons:
N6 needs a full crew. To put weekend breakfast in N6, they'd need to have 2 shifts to cover thw whole day from 0400 until after the late night news. That costs money.
TC11 is now closed, but if Sportsround were in there, it'd need a full crew. That costs money.
N8 is staffed 24/7, and it's dirt cheap to do Breakfast from there.

I'm surprised that Sportsround is live. If they taped it on Friday afternoon in N6, the Sat lunchtime bully could be in N6 instead of N8.

The fact is that there was a very real possibility of Breakfast coming from N8 every day. Coming from N6 Mon-Fri is a bonus.

However, it's still a crap programme.

Apologies I was referring to TC7 not TC11.

I thought Sportsround came from N6, but during the world cup it was done as an OB from Germany, and the early evening news was later than normal. Therefore the first shift of staff would only have the lunchtime bulletin to deal with so it would be more cost effective to share with N24 in those circumstances.

The arguments were that N8 needed considerably less staff than TC7, but there may be an argument that the money saved by using N6 rather than TC7 during the week could be used to fund the extra staffing to use N6 at the weekend too.

Isn't TC7 the old Going Live studio that the BBC news programmes took over?

Coinciding with the fact that BBC Breakfast Time was voted a crap show, the Breakfast website have put up pictures showing themselves over the years - note the model of the 2000 set!

Edit -- love one of the viewers comments

The worst programme? It's you. Why? Poor quality presenters, tired format, too much non-news

Just watched one of the most terrible pieces of TV I've seen in a long time - courtesey of Breakfast.

It was a report on someone who'd built a model of the Titanic but couldn't get planning permission to extend it into a museum. OK, so it wasn't helped by being a terrible story - something usually left for regional news to scrape at - but it wasn't even professionally done.

The sun was blotted out most of the pictures of the ship, shining right into the camera. The interviewer was stood a good ten feet above and 30 feet away from the interviewee, so when there was problems with the interviewee's microphone there was nothing he could do about it, not that there was much of interest to hear.

Then when they got back to the studio they played the Celine Dion music ready for Bill to do some corny link to Declan, but instead Jules butted in with some inane emails from viewers about the NHS.

Please, someone put Breakfast out of it's mysery.

And to answer a post above on a similar theme - why do I watch it if I feel so strongly - well firstly in the fading hope that they may pull up their socks, also because there's not much better on other channels and finally when we pay £130-odd a year for it I don't see why I should have to turn off!
