I certainly don't think he's 'awful' in any sense - he's journalistically superb, and his handling of breaking news is among the very best. Far above that of Matthew er um Amrolli um walla, say.

But yes - he seems to be trying too hard on breakfast and when copresenter reads fluffy story, the smile he gives to the camera is slightly unnerving. Certainly doesn't have the natural warmth of Bill Turnbull.

Funniest line of the month:

but I can't help feeling something about him gives me the creeps... not quite in a sh*t-scary Akhtar Khan way , but enough to make me feel uneasy over my Granola.

Hmmm I think this useful yardstick of creepiness could catch on.....

This morning's pairing was most remarkable for how much leg the female presenter was showing. At one point, when she sat slightly sideways, her skirt "rode up" so much the wire for her mike lurched into view.

Quite shocking at such an early hour. Rolling Eyes

I think Joanna must have been reading this thread; she was wearing trousers this morning Wink .

I know no-one else on here does but I quite like Joanna and thought she'd been good on Breakfast, and her and Michael were excellent.

Michael is definately better suited to this more newsier style of Breakfast as he didn't seem that great when he returned earlier in the year.

Julian Worricker was good as well, maybe a little disappointing, but hes been added to the Breakfast website so maybe he'll be making more appearances?

Also, great to see Julia Botfield back presenting Breakfast this morning although Charlie is not the best co-presenter in the world.

Jules was a definate improvement from Sarah Campbell last weekend.

I saw that she now refers to herself as "Julia" and not "Jules!

I remember Jules Botfield being asked about the Jules/Julia, probably on Breakfast and she interchanges, I think it depends whether she is out reporting or in the studio. Possibly also dependant on the story.

Although even when she's out reporting she's more often than not introduced as 'Julia Botfield' but one of the presenters often add 'over to you Jules' or some such. Agree though, it's great to see her back presenting after a break of more than two years! She should be back wih Bill on Friday, so we'll be able to see her in N6.

That's not too uncommon, the presenters on the six would often throw to "Andrew Marr", and come back with "Thanks, Andy", or "our Royal Correspondant Nicholas Witchell is outside Buckingham Palace. Nick, tell us what's going on"

I realise that, the difference in this case is that Ms Botfield always referred to herself as 'Jules'; the Breakfast website actually used to say 'Don't tell anyonw but her name is actually Julia'. My point is that she refers to herself as Julia and the others will call her Jules.

I remember when she did the South East news on the BBC and she was always Jules then; it's only recently that she's referred to herself as Julia. I hope she does return full-time to the studio to present because I do think she is better than all of the women that have been doing it, including Sian.

I actually quite like Joanna. She's a good 'straight', no-nonsense newsreader. I'm not sure she's right for Breakfast though. I kind of think a bit more charisma and personality is required.

Sorry guys, I think this has been mentioned before but I dont see why Breakfast cant be presented from N6 7 days a week. I know people have said that the reason why the Saturday lunchtime buletin comes from News 24 is because Sportround has the studio but im sure Sportsround comes from TC11 so N6 would be free. It would be good to have a uniform look for Breakfast all week round. It was also good to read in Broadcast the other week that Breakfast is neck and neck with GMTV, to me Breakfast has come on leaps and bounds and is getting better and better.
