it's probably just a suprise because we've been used to frumpy heavily pregnant Sian for the last few months - and kate and susannah tend to wear trousers. It was nice to see the female anchor actually 'look' like a female.
on another topic the weekend breakfast has been absolutely dreadful - the worst i've ever seen that awful sarah campbell is dire i know they are short of presenters but really.....can they be that short...she was like a workexperience girl - lots of erms and talking very slowly. Absolutely dreadful for a national news programme. The beeb definitely need to get their house in order - why can't other main presenters do N24 shifts - why can't sophie raworth or natasha kaplinsky be rostered in when they're shortstaffed gawd knows they're paid enough for their cushy little numbers.
They come from that big, cold-looking, sparse studio shoved behind a desk which looks as though it was made from the remains of a streetlight and a crushed Ford Focus.
Dermot Murnaghan is probably the most smug, false and patronising presenter on BBC News (with the possible exception of Tim 'baby-faced' Willcox.
Don't get me started on Carol Kirkwood - that woman is TERRIBLE. She thinks the show revolves around her and her oh-not-so-funny quips and sickly Scottish voice. Ughh, get that woman off now.
Only decent presenter on Breakfast is Bill Turnbull - at least he seems like he's on the same level as the rest of us. The others are all simpering divas.

I hope that's not a racist remark against all Scots?
Breakfast does seem to be improving IMO. When there are big news stories, such as the airport terror last week, the programme excelled - it really was a very good product, but on slow news days they seem to rely on too much fluff to fill the time. It's not perfect...there is IMO not enough business news, esp. after 8 - when the FTSE has opened, I very rarely see what the markets are sitting at.
They have at last got the studio furniture right however...with the desk for the most part, and the sofa for discussions and after 8.30 slot.
One problem they still haven't fixed is the headlines...why do them at quarter to the hour, but not quarter past...a small niggle, but a very easy one to be fixed.
What did everyone think of Julian Worricker's Breakfast debut this morning? He always seems like a decent and competent presenter to me, but I can't help feeling something about him gives me the creeps... not quite in a sh*t-scary Akhtar Khan way, but enough to make me feel uneasy over my Granola.
I like Jullian as a presenter. I think he belongs to Five Live, and should stay there for now though. News 24 hes good too, but not really the breakfast type I'm affraid to say.

i thought it was only me! Yes there is something about his manner which makes me feel uneasy.
As a proud Scottish patriotic, whose majority of family come from Glasgow...I do not appreciate such references being made to the city or the country itself, after all we are as much as a part of Britain as England, Wales and Northern Ireland are.
Now, with that said, back to Breakfast...I actually quite liked Julian on Breakfast this morning: he has a very relaxing personality/style of presenting and an interviewer of good skill...I thought he handled the George Michael interview very well.
I've removed most of the posts relating to the Scottish flaming, those posts are now in a seperate thread out of site (for viewing by other mods + admin). Hopefully that will put an end to things.
I didn't like that Julian bloke either, well, not that I didn't like him, just made me feel uneasy. Although noone makes me feel more uneasy than that Simon McCoy, he's just so big & hangs over people, I really don't like watching him at all, makes me go all goose pimpley [shudders]
