Yea, where these special sunrises not what the new set was all about, for Breakfast? I haven't seen Breakfast all the way through, do the current background graphics change during the morning?

The new background looks like vomit.

I much preferred the clouds. That whole set just looks cold and uninviting with its hard corners, cold floor and sparsely furnished. GMTV's studio looks a lot cosier in comparison.

Why would anyone (apart from the thickos at ITV) want news to be 'cosy'. It should be authoritarian, cold, serious, impressive, credible. I'm sick of this move to smiley nice fluffy news - they think it makes it more popular, when in fact it makes it populist.

But, it's on early in the morning. I for one don't want it to be cold or serious.
There are main bulletins for that.

Some people, as ZANY as it may sound, actually like to just get straight news in the morning - no magazine fluff, no human interest, just the same news they're capable of rolling out the rest of the day but afraid to before 9am.

My point entirely. Looking at the Breakfast studio first thing in the morning is enough to make you want to switch off and get back under the duvet!

No they only used the blue sky/clouds.

I think it was assumed that the sunrise backgrounds would have been used when sunrise actually occured during the time Breakfast was on air. Not sure if this is true or not, and I suppose now we'll never know.

Pity they couldn't have used one of the other backgrounds.

Funny how this one seemed to have the same sort of window blocking that the 1/6/10 has, whereas the blue sky/clouds was just plain.

I do quite like the new background even though I didn't mind the clouds. The main problem with the clouds was that the blue looked out of place in a red and orange set and at least the new background follows the same colour scheme. However, the new background isn't as subtle as the clouds and the sunrise but I suppose we can't have everything. I just hope that the sunrise will appear in the winter as it looks the far superior background.

On a completely different note, I have to say that all though the new titles are good, they are no where near as good as the last lot. The previous titles were more dramatic, especially at the ending, whereas now the titles feel rather weak, notably at the end.

I do , until they get out the bouncy castle with Chris Sportsbloke. The 6 pm news looks more 'Tellytubby News' than Breakfast now and thats the wrong way round surely.
