Anybody spot the little "ice gremlin" on the weather just now? lol! Whoops!

I heard Bill mention that, but I was busy buttering my toast at the time and so wasn't looking at the screen. What was it?

A strange woman (a crew member) popped up on the weather map for a few seconds before dissappearing again...

Just when you thought they just got the weather maps off a computer for the Breakfast forecasts - evidently not!

How Bizarre. Maybe she was hoping she'd get a fee from Outtake TV.

The graphics are generated in the usual weather studio, with a producer in the studio pressing the 'clicker'. Breakfast should show a feed of the graphics computer, but it sounds like they went to the output of the weather studio instead.

I don't care about the graphics, as long as Natasha is presenting, I'm happy. Laughing

can i just comment on you, alot of your posts are totally usless, like saying things like you think Sophie looked great tonight (which she generally does, thanks to make up [although i say she is really good looking]) and then you make a thread about Fiona Bruce saying that she has a new fan (wow, but really we dont give a toss) and then this saying that you dont care about the graphics, well what are you doing here then, the caption on the site says "Discussing Television Presentation ", not "Discussing How Good Looking The Female BBC News readers look", although if the topic comes up, feel free to post on it, but usless posts saying things like this for no reason, breaking up a conversation about the weather graphics is totally USLESS.

thank you

I still think they should do the weather from the studio, being outside on a cold say always makes me (and perhaps many other views) feel COLD!!
I remember on Christmas Day 2003 (i wasnt watchin 2004, BTW) Carol did the weather at the Projector screen in the News 24 studio. If Breakfast got a good screen, that would work very well, GET BACK IN SIDE

I think News 24 should house Breakfast - surely a cheaper option than running the current studio. Just change the pointless stand-up area with no screen to accomodate a sofa set - and not only would Breakfast benefit- but N24 would now have a sofa for interviews and such like.

Come on the Breakfast team - make it like it used to be.

Looks like they cant decide how in the world to shoot a desk or a coffee table and sofa on Breakfast. The shot is nearly overhead at sometimes on the coffee table, and they can't decide where to shoot from on the floor.

I like the plasma shot they sometimes do.... as they pan in towards the sofa and guest they put the plasma in on the extreme right or left .... but I feel the plasmas should be used more frequently, e.g. like on the 2002-2003 sofa set, where there were two plasmas behind the sofa. Alternatively. get one big screen in and use that.

I think that the screen need to be used more often, you only ever see them from 8.30 onwards.
Also at the end of the programme, instead of always having the screen at the side why not have the camera above the screen looking at the set and then moving down so the screen fills the full end shot.
I'd like to see the shot of just the sofa area (not including the news desk) a little more as it doesn't look so empty.

As for the weather, it needs to stay outside but should be done out on location at different places each week so we don't always get them on the roof.

This used to happen more often - but in the current climate of cost-saving I suspect the extra costs required to send a camera crew, links vehicle and presenter around the UK would be difficult to justify. (It might even be cheaper to bring them back into the studio...)
