...Many of them just look like scuff marks which are easily wipeable. They don't look like scratches to me, so why isn't anyone doing anything about it?

The whole new set for Breakfast I'm afraid to say proboably looked remarkably good on paper, but has been built in a bit of a shoddy fashion. The screens didn't line up, there are marks on the floor, the corners of the set are awful . . . the list goes on.

Full marks to the designers, but the builders look like they've done half a job and scarpered. Ah well, that's builders for you I suppose!

Perhaps someone can relay this thread to the BBC hierachy via their intranet? Very Happy

The floor is being sorted this weekend...
Also Breakfast will be undergoing a small tweak in its set, hopefully, this monday. It's well known that the cloud backing has been a problem, but rather than try different umpteen designs, the designers have gone away - looked at it - and the new incarnation will be revealed on monday (if all goes well).
Along with this Breakfast will be using more of the desk and less of the sofa between 0600 - 0830.

Thanks for the information Media Boy! I await Monday morning with interest.

What the hell was Kate Silverton wearing this morning?

I thought they'd gotten rid of flowers with the 2003 set

OOH, somebody got out of bed the wrong side this morning, and every morning before that.

To be fair to James, it was an unusual outfit to say the least... although nowhere near as horrible as most of the stuff Christa Ackroyd wears on Look North.

She certainly did. It was what one could call unorthodox! Here's a quick cap in case anyone didn't see, so they can judge for themselves.

I thought the rule for dressing for news programmes was that it is not 'distracting', or at least that's what they trot out when quizzed usually. I think it would be hard to jusitfy this outfit, surely?!

[edit] I suppose they could say it didn't detract from the news, because there isn't any Laughing
