Yes - you're spot on with your points! Altogether an embarrasing look for BBC news - they should be ashamed of themselves!

My bugbears about the set (apart from the audio sounding like they're in a warehouse) ...

1) Even-ness of the display - a technical limitation perhaps?
2) This bright narrow strip which appears directly behind the desk looks bad in the tight shot
3) Poor positioning of the graphics - careful alignment could have had the colour change on the split between the panels - a very basic mistake from an aesthetic point of view

no it was blue from the start
those blocks on the background looked even worse during the weather, they took my eyes off the map
the skyline view for the 1 and 6 news looked better than just the clouds, do they have a night shot for the 10 oclock
all in all the set looks like a botched up blue peter make
actually blue peter makes are more realistic

You reckon?
To keep all the complainers happy, the backdrop of the Ten will merely be a repeated illuminated silhouette of Biddy Baxter, court shoes and all.
How can anyone honestly say that the new look on the News is Blue Peter-esque?? For crying out loud.

Maybe the clouds are to represent them being in heaven. The God of Television News is now Breakfast, with Dermot and co merely looking down on Sky News.

Hardly. This morning was very sunny in West London this morning so that 'clouds' background was used. It'll change if there's a sunrise/overcast etc.

First thing I thought on looking at the new set was Sky -> Breakfast News.
Not very clever, eh, BBC - a new set which engenders subliminal thoughts of your chief competitors?
The panelling looked cheap and the blue really clashed with Sian's jacket.
It's bad, in my opinion - really, really bad.

I thought she'd gone to the weekend bulletins.
