New look now on the Breakfast website

Quote:
Eventually, the design team settled on the sky above one of the BBC's own buildings beside Television Centre in London.

"We took 360 still photographs and then, using computer graphics, we've mixed them and put them on a loop," says Bill.

Those images are then projected onto a 90 foot wall in the new Breakfast studio.

New look on the website but they haven't changed the content. The profiles page still has Moira, Louisa, Suzanne and Mishal; all of whom won't be on the new-look set.

Moira is still part of the Breakfast team, she's presenting the Breakfast news on Sunday and on Sunday AM with Marr.

Shame the font of 'Breakfast' is different from the one used on TV.
And doesn't seem to line up with the BBC logo either...

Nice titles, not sure about the music, the set is nice, the astons are awful, why is there a line beside the clock, and why is the text a lighter shade of orange?

I was dreading the new set after the last attempt but I will be honest and I really like it.
The news desk format works for the news and gives an air of seriousness with the sofa used appropriately for lighter items. I also like the background, which is simple yet effective, and the colour scheme of the whole set brings the message of 'Breakfast' across unlike the last cold set, though the astons are a little hard to read. In addition, the low roof of N6 suggests a 'cosy' set which again I feel is appropriate for Breakfast.
Music and titles also quite good, even though I was a big fan of the old titles.
On the whole, a decent attempt.

Cheers, Mr Wood. Awoke at 6.22 very confused to see Breakfast sunbathing.

As has been said, the red and blue are very Sky News and the shades of orange are very Sainsbury's.

To be honest though I thought the clouds backgrounds were backlit panels rather than a videowall.

Oh and the line next to the clock I thought was analogue interference at first!!

EDIT: Not sure if it was featured on the programme this morning, but the BBC News video player currently has a look behind the scenes of the studio, rehearsals and stuff including how the 1 and 6 will be using the set.

So what happens at weekends? do they share with News24 (n8??) or will it stay in N6?

Presume they'll still do a weekend 24-esque share.

I like the orange... because its different, yet very breakfasty. Before everyone was moaning how cold the set was, now when they get a new set thats warm, you claim its too much like a flaming oven at gas mark 5.

I really love the new look, music is fab. If only they used the sunrise background. Crying or Very sad

My bugbears about the set (apart from the audio sounding like they're in a warehouse) ...

http://www.andrewjwood.com/misc/bf10.jpg

1) Even-ness of the display - a technical limitation perhaps?

2) This bright narrow strip which appears directly behind the desk looks bad in the tight shot

3) Poor positioning of the graphics - careful alignment could have had the colour change on the split between the panels - a very basic mistake from an aesthetic point of view
