There seem to have been a few issues on Breakfast this morning. The Tower remained permanently on screen for the first 90 mins - i.e. right through weather and Regions'/Nations' news.

At 0800, the signed broadcast - usually confined to N24 - was also shown on BBC ONE, before it suddenly disappeared from both channels at around 0815.

Now - and since 0820 - there's a rather hideous 2D static "BBC NEWS" Tower on BBC ONE showing 'www.bbc.co.uk' in place of the clock. N24 meanwhile is showing the standard generic 3D animated "BBC NEWS" Tower used for weekend/holiday simulcasts. Unusually, the static tower on BBC ONE is laid over the animated dog showing on N24; on BBC ONE, the animated Tower rotated out behind the static Tower at the 0830 opt-out.

There's also been a rather hideous red/white markets graphic (which I've not personally seen before) used during Declan's reports this morning.

All most odd.

Bill and Susannah, not Natasha as listed in RT, are supposed to be presenting tomorrow, with Sian Williams in Sri Lanca. Looks like we'll have to wait longer than Friday to see Bill and SIan back together presenting.

I take it that was why Sian didn't do the news yesterday, as she was down in the RT.

Odd that Jane did the early evening update, but Dermot did the main extended bulletin at 10.30, all in the same day.

I wonder why Natasha isn't back for tomorrow?

Well it just goes to show doesn't it. Sian doing an excellent job from Galle in Sri Lanka this morning, but you have to wonder why Natasha isn't out there doing it.

Then again, you don't wonder for long. Disasters really aren't her scene, that may involve getting a bit dirty and having to do some journalism! She'd far prefer to stick to prancing around ballrooms and ice rinks.

But Sian, excellent.

Is BIG MOIRA on Breakfast these days, or still away on extended Diva leave?

Well i tuned in at about 8.40, and Bill and Susannah were doing the other news, before going back to the Tsunami story.

So they probably thought they didn't need her for just a couple of other stories - like the day of the US Election.

WHY IN GODS NAME HASN'T SIAN GOT BREAKFAST?
Sorry for the shouting those with sensitive pinkies but why oh why? Sian was fantastic this morning live. She was informative, clear and very welcoming. As expressed above by Moz would be interesting why strictly cant read wasn't there, but quite frankly Sian has today gone into a whole new league. Also BBC News in general has been fantastic, the coverage recently has been the beeb at its best. My borther was in Thailand, home now thankfully after posting a message on the bbc board. Laughing Keep up the work!

Sian clearly does not have breakfast because she is and always will be second league - she probably begged to go to Sri Lanka just to get a job - face it she is only ever on when someone else is not .

Your view of this matter is, unfortunately, deemed stupid because of your bias towards other presenters, and your bashing of certain other female presenters just because you appear to have a crush on Sophie Raworth. Just because you don't like a certain presenter doesn't mean they're second league, and it doesn't mean you have to make such insulting and crude assumptions about them, ie. "she probably begged". As much as I respect your opinions, I feel this time they were a bit out of order.

Thanks,
James

If/When Dermot and Natasha leave, BBC bosses must surely consider promoting Bill and Sian to be main presenters of the show; they are much loved by the viewers of Breakfast IMO.

No, Sian doesn't have breakfast because a certain other excuse for a newsreader is probably screwing a boss - she's certainly screwing up BBC News!
