What? Rebuilt somewhere else? Wasn't it in the way of the new BH so they knocked it down, or do you mean rebuilt as in replaced by the new wing of BH?

Egton House does not officially exist anymore. The actual building is the Egton Wing of Broadcasting House. It will be joined to Broadcasting House once the rest is built. The whole building is U-shaped. The original Broadcasting House is at one end and Egton Wing is at the other.

Looks like the new website has launched - www.bbcarabic.com

EDIT: Well, the front page, anyway. Very pretty, even if I can't understand a word!

It seems glass boxes are the theme...

Also GREAT music treatment, I hope some of that energy and melody makes its way to Domestic news

Don't forget that BBC Arabic is NOT being made by BBC News (i.e. the people who make BBC One bulletins, News 24 and provide BBC World with news content) it is being produced by BBC World Service - and is surprisingly distant in branding terms.

AIUI the music is not David Lowe - but I would expect BBC News stuff to remain with David.

The graphic look was actually created by BBC News graphics (who pitched against commercial companies) - whereas the new BBC News look is being done by Lambie Nairn.

I know this, but the music is good, and could be suitable for BBC News

Well I think most people here would think this is a shame as the BBC Arabic graphics look very very good - as opposed to what we've heard about the LM branding which is 'mostly grey'!!! Rolling Eyes

Also ironic that BBC News graphics have never created anything this good for BBC News! Laughing
