This is up on the BBC Arabic satellite channels across Europe and the Middle East - with the BBC World Service Arabic network as audio.

Details here for those who can get 13E, those that can't just scale the graphic up and play the live stream from bbcarabic.com - you'll get nearly the same look Wink

For those of you wondering what the Arabic newsroom looks like in the new Egton Wing of BH, there are a couple of shots in Richard Sambrook's Flickr account here. He's the boss, so they must be official Very Happy

Hey the look seems promising. I like the still you've captured, the deep reds look very nice.

If you flip the image back, the red/white frosted area might just be the studio?

I think that is the side of the TV studio, with the desk at the back so you will get the gallery monitors in the shot behind. The rumour going round Bush is that it's full of evil robot cameras that attack if you don't stay on your guard.

What does that message say in Arabic, it must contain details of the channel's launch!

Think the TV studioS will have numbers in line with the radio studio operation.

I doubt they would be called N anything - after all they aren't owned or operated by BBC News...

I believe it says the service is coming soon, and that you are currently listening to the BBC Arabic radio. An official start date has not been announced yet, but it will be early next year according to an article in Ariel.

You say that, but there's 2 TV studios in Bush that begin with 'N', but that's because they are in the North East wing. Radio studios in the same wing have no letter in the name, and the former webcast studio you can see inside from Aldwych never had a number AFAIK. In Centre Block all radio and the self-op TV studio are 'C' something, although I've also heard the TV studio called 2CB. All studios are 'S' something in South East wing, unless they are the ones beginning with 'E'. There's no TV over there to confuse things further but two studios were turned into server rooms years ago and retained their 'E' and 'S' numbers. Clear? Good!

Back to the original question - no idea about numbers at Egton as the glass had not had the stickers put on when I was last there. Since Egton is now considered a wing of Broadcasting House rather than a seperate building the numbers may continue from BH in a logical way. Just like they do between wings at Bush Smile

I should have been clearer - if they are called N-anything (and I heard their names recently and they didn't have N in them, though I can't remember what they were called) it would be a co-incidence, not a planned continuation of the TV Centre / News Centre numbering convention.
