In Jult there will be a seson on Africa, with BBC News, of course taking part.

It seems as if George Alagiah will be reporting for the Six and Ten, while Natasha Kaplinsky will be presenting Breakfast from Africa from the 4th-8th of July Shocked

I'm surprised - normally Dermot reports on these big things, but this will either reinforce my view that she is a lightweight, untallented journalist, or a very competent presenter, we shall see.

Appoligies if this has been mentioned.

I thought it was a bit odd that Natasha was presenting overseas as well, but I found this on the BBC Press Office website:

Quote:
Natasha Kaplinsky will be presenting Breakfast from Kenya in the week starting 4 July, as world leaders gather for the G8 summit. Africa is top of their agenda.

Natasha 's father was an anti-apartheid campaigner in South Africa who sought political asylum in the UK. The family eventually settled in Kenya, where Natasha spent her early years.

Natasha returns to South Africa and the old family home in Kenya to try to find out how Africa has changed and meet old friends.

In addition, Breakfast will bring viewers stories from across the continent, including a video diary filmed by a family in Tanzania.

The programme will also be focussing on doing business with African countires and examining the emergence of a new class of African entrepreneur.

Also, I think that George Alagiah might be off to Africa to film his reports next week as he is not presenting the Six. Dermot is presenting with Sophie, and Simon McCoy will be presenting Breakfast.

Well every little helps, She off our screens for a week...Then the holidays - there still to come Laughing

One medical concern though...She might melt Twisted Evil

Sounds quite interesting; BBC Africa Season. I suppose News 24 will be doing the whole week of it like - Like Global Warning and China Week.

Is Bill on holidays? Normally we would expect him to cover for George on the Six or at least for Dermot on Breakfast.
