BIG MOIRA used to have her own weekly news and sports bulletin on BBC2 every Saturday (or Sunday, can't remember) evening. It was called NewsView, and BIG MOIRA used to write the theme tune, sing the theme tune and star in it...........

Actually, it was News, then Sport, followed by a review of the weeks news with subtitles......

BBC Two had a daily bulletin, usually around 7.30, until Newsnight began 20 or so years ago. The branding was News on 2 and it came compete with its own theme tune. Presumably the weekend bulletins survived for a while because there was no Newsnight. Guess the argument for bringing BBC Two bulletins back is not great now that an increasing number of us have 24 hour news.

I think there might be a bit of call for a short bulletin (from the morning set) at around 8-9 on BBC1 or 2.... at the moment we have to go for 3 whole hours without news!
