Obviously with Freeview BBCi currently only offers 2 video streams, so quite often the BBC 10 o'clock News Extra is dropped in favour of interactive content.

Over the last few weeks Spooks has replaced it on Monday, with Who Do you Think You Are / Little Britain on Tuesday.

However, last night it was plainly ridiculous. On 702 we had the Who Do You Think You Are stream, while on 701 we had a special feature from BBC3 showing us various shop fronts dressed up for Christmas.

Ridiculous - surely the BBC News service is more deserving than this - at least for the 30 minute length of the bulletin. It would also be preferable to extend this interactive service till 11.20pm so it can be viewed with Newsnight as well.

It does claim that it should be for all Digital viewers, but on NTL we have not had it once! They either forget to add it onto the BBCi Bridge or they apologise that it isn't available, it really does p*ss me off as NTL has had eTV applications from the BBC before (such as Wimbledon and other major sporting events) so I can't see why 10 Extra isn't on there!

But I've noticed they only mention that it's on Digital Satellite.
