I wonder what was going in the weather studio tonight?

After cutting from the News, poor Helen stood there for about 5 or 6 seconds before speaking. She appeared quite distracted during the broadcast, her eyes darting left and right, looking off camera.

I think there must have been some kind of technical trouble with the monitor in front of the camera. She seemed quite excitable by the end of her 2mins 30.

She lost her talkback to NC1 director about 30 seconds before going on-air. She didn't know when to go on and when to finish. Hence her looking off camera was her looking at the clock to make sure she was getting her timigs right. She did quite well considering.... Cool

I noticed that, she seemed almost scared... I don't know what it could of been, as they don't have autoque to go wrong, unless her main monitor showing her + bluescreen + network output broke? She certainly didn't seem to happy...

Perhaps she'd just been shagged by a giant gorilla who then told her she didn't want a long term relationship. When that happened to me, i was devestated for weeks.

Well then, if I had a hat I take it off to her.

That must have been very off-putting. Well done Helen, it could easily have looked much worse in the hands of a less experienced presenter.

Yes considering the technical problem she did well although she did look and sound as if she was about to burst into tears and pee/poo herself during the forecast.

Would have been interesting to see how Daniel Corbett would have reacted in that situation. The man is a legend.

<shudder>

I'm sure he is lovely... but he gives me the creeps.
I also find his references to "brollys" and his exagerated facial expressions and movements so distracting that by the end of the forecast I can't remember any of the detail.

Poor Helen, pure example of working on her own adrenaline tonight. She did very well.

Imagine if it was Rob McElwee - he'd just be talking slowly throughout the whole forecast using as many adjectives as he can! "It will be a very cloudy grey horrible wet and muggy day"
