Anyone know if the NC is simulcasting the funeral, as the Wednesday NC listings have not been updated?
(Thought the Beeb's policy was to simulcast whether us punters liked it or not?)
I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your question, but I was just wondering earlier if it's going to be like PMQs - with it being shown on BBC 1/2 BBC News & BBC Parliament.
I'd say it's fairly certain to be shown on the News Channel unless a bigger newer story comes along on the day.
All this fuss about the Radio 1 Chart Show and it seems that everyone's forgotten that it's not the only chart show. We know how Radio 1 will cope with it, what will commercial radio do?

You mean Vodafone top 40 which has the song at no1? Since Tuesday. It will have to played. Radio one will have to aswell if it reaches no1.
Will another row is coming since pro thatcher song is in the charts..... I'm in love with Margaret thatcher which was first released in October 79..... bbc can't been seen to be taken sides? I bet some will be happy at that.
Slightly off topic, but how many different commercial Top 40 shows are there?
I remember it being the Nescafe one, which I guess became the Pepsi one, after that Im lost!
Pepsi Chart Show became hit40uk which is now the Big Top 40 sponsored by Vodafone but powered by iTunes which uses the iTunes top 10 at the point of broadcast and the rest of its chart is based on sales and airplay.
There's only really two chart shows on the radio that I'm aware of (Big Top 40 and what goes out on Radio 1), though where the likes of MTV and Viva and what not make their countdown charts from I'm not entirely sure.
BBC Parliament is showing election '79 coverage where Thatcher won of course. Those were the days were computer screens, especially when graphics changed colours, were already considered fascinating.

Do they
have
to play it? The announcement yesterday said it wouldn't
That's only for it charting in th top 10/5. If it comes out on top well no1 always gets played if not expect more trouble ahead. Still no word if the pro Maggie song will be aired..
There was a rival for a while - the Smash Hits Chart, which went out on Emap's stations
KISS plays out it's own thing on a Sunday afternoon called the UKHot40 Big Beats Chart. It's apparently made up of the "most wanted" music on their station, but it's suitably vague as to how that is calculated. Needless to say it's not up there with the major R1 or commercial radio chart shows.

The Andrew Marr documentary - it looked like it had been on the shelf for a while - because everyone looked younger than they do today. Presumably he recorded his voiceover well before his stroke? Or did he update it this week? I'm wondering about his health, and whether there is any news?
Well, it wasn't a repeat, it was the official obituary made at some point over the last few years and sat on the shelf waiting to be shown when she died. It said nothing about when she died so I'm assuming Marr didn't need to update it and therefore is still recovering at home.
The obituary was made in 2010 according to a BBC news journo on Twitter.
I think there might be some confusion about it being a repeat because Andrew covered a lot of the Thatcher years in depth on his BBC2 'Making of Modern Britain' series .
