Of course the PM's Director of Communications is ex-BBC so maybe you might be onto something Wink

Dont forget his missus works on the NC too!

Has she been spotted today?

Former Editor of the BBC News at Six and Ten no less. Just to add to the conspiracy. Wink

Whoops! Jane Hill just said "Hello again from Westminster" whilst stood outside 10 Downing St!

Which city were you thinking Downing St was in? Leeds?

Great to see Michael Brunson on News at Ten

Great, measured and pacey coverage of Thatcher's political career and reaction to her death on ITV's News at Ten. What a brilliant move bringing the wonderful Michael Brunson back to file a special report as well.

ITV's 10:35pm documentary could have been broadcast earlier in the evening, although in hindsight, it was probably in ITV's favour to stick to their usual schedule and instead devote the entirety of their news bulletins to the story, rather than place copious amounts of additional programming earlier in the day.

ITV absolutely right not to put the Thatcher documentary earlier. She's ruined enough things for people without having them miss Broadchurch too - and no point in ITV sticking a tribute on against one on BBC1.

Moving on to the funeral and wonder if it'll be Dimbleby or Edwards for the BBC. I'd guess Alastair Stewart will cover it for ITV unless they go for the street party approach with Schofield and Etchingham.

ITV's Ten was very good.

Dimbleby for the funeral? If so what will Huw's role be having done the royal wedding, diamond jubilee and Olympics in the past couple of years.

No doubt Sophie and Fiona will have key roles.

Dimbleby I guess considering he done Diana's and the Queen Mother's. Huw probably providing a VO.

And I'd guess Alistair will be in for ITV, though considering Trevor anchored the other two they may go for someone else completely.

The most recent one of those was 11 years ago though. Things have changed since then.

It was indeed great to see Michael Brunson back on the screen. I agree that the Thatcher documentary is probably on at the right time...though would personally have loved to see my Wife's face if Corrie had been postponed. Very Happy

Yes - I think it's more likely to be Huw Edwards with Sophie Raworth/ Fiona Bruce/ Sian Williams in supporting roles.

Things have changed. Dimbleby led the Golden jubilee coverage but was no where to be seen for the Dimond Jubliee which went to Huw.
