This is a somewhat rather odd new look IMO, as they didn't have the backdrop of Manchester in the 10.50pm bulletin last night and they didn't have it on the 10.55am today, they also didn't have a DOG and the animating astons in those bulletins either.

But at 12.30pm we had a DOG onscreen for the Headlines and the DOG is back for the 12.50pm bulletin, but no animating astons and no view of Manchester, which was far nicer than those squares...

...also all of the shorter bulletins now have a London Tonight style introduction, i.e "Hi I'm (name) here are the latest stories from ITV Granada"

looks to me like they have dropped the CSO, wonder if they will use it at weekends.

I like the new-look, I just wish they would use the Manchester background for all the news Updates.

I agree, it looks great on Granada Reports, I think I can see my house. Laughing

I really like the new look Granada News/Reports - I think the new set is a vast improvement on the 2004 version. It looks more modern and fashionable. I'm glad they seem to have ditched the CSO too, as that looked pretty bad to be honest.

A nice new look for Granada Reports -the Manchester image looks more clearer than Central West's fuzzy image of Birmingham.

They should ditch that bloke on the main programme - could he possible sound any more disinterested? Rolling Eyes

When Tony started I have to say he was a breath of fresh air and appears to get on well with Miss Meacock, but now he has a tendancy to shout and comment at times, as does Miss Meacock. It was good last week when they had So Rahman presenting the main Granada Reports, he is very good, it's a shame really, he's been at Granada for about a decade now and he hasn't been promoted.

Though no-one can beat Bob Greaves, he was brilliant, shame he retired, if he was still presenting today, it would be very hard to imagine him on the new set.

Though I'm glad the view of Manchester is shown during the main bulletin, though why not during the shorter bulletins? The squares annoy me and they look crap. Also noticed tonight that on the plasmas, they've zoomed in on the Granada Reports logo, and the sports bit now has Granada Sport on the plasma.

I couldn't help notice the other morning that Peter Berry looked very uncomfortable on the new set.

This look is getting stranger, as the DOG has repappeared on the 10.50pm, but no animated astons and no Manchester view, probably the only thing that irratates me about the new look, as it looks nicer than a blur of blue! Laughing

But here's a cap of the altered look on the Plasma, with a zoomed Granada News logo that I mentioned earlier.

And the opening lines are getting more odd, tonight So Rahman welcomed us 'To the lastest from the ITV Granada News Centre'.

I think the new set looks great. It beats the dreariness of Northwest tonight. But I still think the quality of some of the reports on the programme are so boring...no thought gone into them.

Also, Ally is lloking a bit uncomfortable reading the sport without his papers...it just looks odd

Some presenters on Granada seem quite comfortable in the new set, such as Lucy Meacock, So Rahman and Anna Thomas. But Ally looks very uncomfortable standing up and Peter Berry looked like his back was hurting the other morning.

I was actually in Manchester today and I couldn't help notice that waiting outside Greggs or Sayers next to Piccadilly Station, and I couldn't help notice Jane Dougall and a Granada cameraman walking to the Car Park, shame they weren't filming.
