I caught a glimse of Anna Thomas reporting on GMTV this morning, was she reporting for Granada?or has she gone national? IMO the standard of the late buliten has fallen since So's exit and her switch to weekends.
Totally agree about the Granada late bulletin. So was a v. good presenter IMO. Shame he went, he was just starting to appear more often on Granada Reports too!
I noticed Kate Gifford (?) presenting the bulletin the other week, not excellent, neither is Clare Ashforth and Caroline Warhamn (sp?) is dire.
here here to the kate gifford comment. I dont think it was her sound presenting skills that got her on air as opposed to her aesthetically pleasing looks. very predictable that she's actually not that good. why do news eds favour pretty people..there are so many excellent presenters out there who dont rely on looks...

Can't see tvaddict being happy with that comment - he lurves Kate Gifford! Anyone would think he'd hired her or something. She does look great though, and that's half the battle in TV.

I wish I had the influence to do employ people on Granada!
But I do think she looks good. I used to listen to her in Liverpool when she was on Radio City. Maybe she needs time to settle in to TV?
But if I was in charge I wouldn't have Maria Gering or Caroline Warham (is that how you spell them?) presenting bulletins.
Looks like the technical gremlins moved from NWT to Granada this evening with a few things going wrong at the start of the show.
Is there a bug(!) going round Manchester media?
I noticed tonight there were a couple of problems, there was no swooshy sound when the titles zoom into the North West, as they were using the Granada News titles instead, then no headline bed, then straight to the first report which Lucy was unsure whether it was coming or going.
Plus if you've noticed they've altered the camera position slightly so they can show off the Christmas tree.
