How many phone numbers can there be on Granada Reports?
Some giveaway to do with the Lottery and a competition and an appeal for viewers to contact them.
Are they trying to buy viewers?
One phone number a day is fine but any more than that is too much!!!

It was the same on London Tonight the other night - there were at least three opportunities to text in - comments on the top story, the lottery cash vote and and a competition to win a holiday. Ridiculous.

ITV Wales News as well. All the regions must be doing it.

Hasn't each region been given £100,000 of Lottery money and are giving it away to local causes all this week.

Vote number are on-screen and also published in the Daily Mirror all this week aswell.

It's called The People's Millions and does seem to drag on quite a bit.

Yes. It would be OK if it was the only texting opportunity in the 30 minute programme, but added to the other exhortations to text in, it gets a bit OTT.

Saw the News at 1.15 and they were using a Granada Backdrop instead of the view which i thought was strange. It was like ITV News in away but had "Granada News" in big letters with the boxes moving across the screen, anway it must be because Manchester is thick with fog as when i had NWT on they showed us the backdrop as just white and said it is work but this is how it looks outside.

I'd presume it would be the fog to force the view off air, must have been bad (still is in Warrington) not to see the G R A N A D A T V sign, any caps of the backdrop. Oh well I'd rather see a blue background than just grey Fog. (for once)

it's really nice and sunny but bitterly cold in Bradford.

Caught the 3.20pm NWT and they didn't even bother showing us the Oxford Road view, you could just see a brief glimpse of white on the far right of the screen, from the "window" view.

Does Anna Thomas still work for Granada? Is she freelance?

She was voicing over a report for News 24 yesterday, re. the police shootings.

Singed off with "Anna Thomas, BBC News"

As for the white window, most probably the heavy fog in the region tonight. Dianne was showing us the Oxford Road cam tonight explaining the fog. The usual window shot has been rarely used in tonight programme, as all you can see is three red dots.

I think Anna Thomas must still be at Granada, she was presenting the bulletin on Saturday anyway.

Granada Reports had the camera back on at 6.00pm, but Manchester was still very foggy, but the view was visible. When they showed you the normal window view on NWT is was just black and as you said a few red dots. Apparently the Weather is still going to be this bad again tomorrow, so the same thing could happen again.

NWT mentioned they won a couple of RTS Awards over the Weekend, including Best Regional News Programme, one wonder how many Granada won?
