Award Winning Granada News - Your Views

Someone I know who used to work there and left recently told me has has.
In my view he was probably one of the worst presenters I've ever seen on TV. Wooden would be kind.

Still no Tony tonight, and the DOG did not come on screen till 5 past 6.

It was Rob Smith again tonight, who's pretty good IMO, Alistair Mann doing Sport tonight.

Also was it me or did the picture on Granada Weather look a bit odd today? I also presume it was Anna Thomas' first time for doing the silly story? About Garden Gnomes being stolen.

I also noticed something odd with the weather, I haven't clue what but it looks like it may be brighter lights or something like that. The weather today is also odd too.

Has anybody noiced that Granada's Mike Hall has been appearing on ITV national news all week appearing in London.
Has he left? Or is he on attachment?
He's very talented.

Yes i saw him on the lunchtime news. He is very good. Probably on one of those summer attachments.

Cant see him staying at granada for long though!

Hope he does stay at Granada.
He is a real asset and a very good presenter.
He seems to have been given lots of opportunities since last Summer at Granada - and has gone on to bigger things because of it.

Mike is so much better than Ali Mann, his brother Chris Hall also works for Granada, so maybe he is taking over from Mike?.
Shame if he has left, still all the best ones are snapped up by ITV.

Not sure, but I know Kate Gifford from Radio City has moved over to Granada now.

Ahhhh thought I noticed a similarity. I know his career's beeen quite good, he started at the Warrington Guardian (he's from Warrington, hence why he's usually said on air Good to see Warrington doing well), then to Granada News and then ITV News, alright for some.

I don't see what people have against Alastair Mann, granted he isn't mega lively like Mr Hall, but he's great at doing the Sport and is nowhere near as cringeworthy as Tony Morris, who by the way just kept bragging about his daughter's GCSE results on tonight's programme.



Didn't she go on maternity leave? But that was sometime ago, so I presume she's left.

Bit of a daft thing here, but what logo does Granada use on it's OBs? (Let me explain) Last week there was an OB from Manchester City Centre with some thing with Linford Christie in, now in picture I noticed an OB Van with ITV News on it. And then today when Ann O'Connor did a Live link from Liverpool for Anthony Walker's funeral, she was holding an ITV News umbrella, but she was on the NC a few minutes after. But are they now treating themselves as ITV News rather than Granada News?

Lancashire cricketer Mal Loye was called and shown on the screen as 'Matt Loyle' tonight on the late bulletin.
