Granada Reports has been awful for the last few nights. They did an interview las night with Tony Blair and it cut off halfway through and then didnt go back to it until the end of the programme.
Then tonight the programme was just poor quality all round. The only thing that saves it is the sports coverage. I still think Alistair Mann does a lot to help them out duirn a poor programme. Plus Tony's been gone for the last couple of evenings. I don't mind So Rahman but I think he works better on his own.
Tonight was just so boring though compared to NWT. And with Gordon presenting - that says something.

Granada Reports is always going to be the poor cousin to North West Tonight, but it has been better without Tony Morris this week, So Rahman is a good presenter and doesn't do any forced banter Thank God. Where it can go wrong is that it can have the one too many silly stories or just stuff they've made up, such as tonight they had a report about people in the North West enjoying spending on clothes etc.
Though the interview with Maureen Lipman was quite good, surprised she would be in the studio too.
Also notice they've changed the image on the plasmas again, but this time they've gone for a Central News approach by having the same thing but no map of the UK and the squares appear to be the correct size and not squashed.

It looks better without the map and it doesn't look squashed but when I was watching TLW last night, I noticed on the plasma whenever texts were displayed on the plasma, the end of the plasma it was squashed or stretched, could this be a problem with the plasma.

It sounded like they had moved quite fast with this evening's news update.
They read back at least three of the top stories at the end.
