Decided to create a generic Australian news thread as the Ten thread got a bit mixed up. Georgie Gardener will replace Lisa Wilkinson as main host of Today having left the show a few years ago. I wonder if they'll pay her equally.

Seems to be a popular choice - she was the shows newsreader for seven years before leaving in 2014 and has be a regular stand-in on spin-off morning show Today Extra, so she's someone viewers are very familar with.

The Today Show only recently changed their opening graphics but have started doing this weird ticker on top of the straps...

New look for SBS News

Georgie Gardner will be on Today from the 22nd of January and it seems like there may be a new colour scheme and possibly rebrand coming too.

It’s a ******* breakfast show, not a ******* blockbuster movie.

Unfortunately, the commercial networks in Aussie are still hung up on dated 'Voice of God' exaggerated promo voiceovers.

Definitely Nine and Ten, although I wonder how much of it is self-mocking. Ten's voice of god, especially in the I'm a Celebrity ads, seems a lot more tongue in cheek.

Nine is atrocious though.

They are definitely mocking it.
