Audio problems today. No studio sound on Global Sports Report at 14.30. Sound during recorded reports and commercials. No apology graphic and the programme continues in this way!

15.00 - Arise News Now. Studio sound now working. No apology from anchor but this edition may be from earlier in the day.

Arise failed to pay its annual licence fees to Ofcom this year:

Quote:
The following television licensees failed to pay their annual licence fees by the
required payment date. These licensees have therefore been found in breach of
Conditions 4(1) and 4(2) of their broadcast licences.
In the specific circumstances of the following cases, the late or non-payment of the
fee was considered by Ofcom to amount to a serious licence breach. Ofcom is
therefore putting these licensees on notice that the breach is being considered
for the imposition of a statutory sanction, which may include a financial
penalty.

Arise News has been off air for some time now. On screen graphic says it will be back January 7th (today). It isn't yet!!

Probably with a skeleton staff given that they haven't been able to pay their staff.

Still the same look and studio they had immediately before the closedown (the ticker changed a while ago).

Did the notorious owner of the channel not want to pay the staff extra for working public holidays?

The owner has built a reputation for not paying his staff, period. I remember a former Arise staffer (I believe it was a producer) who left and on Twitter calling the channel "a failed vanity project" while understandably complaining about lack of payment.

Newer posts
