Linda Duberley writes about the payment issues at ARISE and that our favourite Nigerian has set up another company which is why the channel is back on-air.

Today Arise News is off the Sky EPG! It is still broadcasting: Documentaries, the same ones in a loop.

A shame he doesn't pay his employees faster than Sky to get back on the EPG.

Can't the regulators at Ofcom do something about this? I mean Press TV got kicked out for less at this point.
Just to note its gone again says it will be back on Tuesday though - how long can they continue doing this is now the question

Press TV lost its licence because it wouldn't and couldn't pay fines, and refused to change their procedures to comply with the code. Yet they put more effort into slagging off Ofcom via the BBC.
Arise TV was pulled up by Ofcom last year as they didn't pay their due fees:

The fact the channel has clear financial issues that cause it to boomerang on and off the EPG and on and off the air doesn't make it an Ofcom issue IMO.

No.
Press TV lost the licence to broadcast from Ofcom for continued breaches of the broadcast code (bias, offensive comment etc)
Sadly, none paying of the staff is not (the last time I looked) a breach of the broadcasting code.
It could be that Sky will get fed up with them, being pulled off, and then to 'arise' again on the EPG, and then loose patience, but until then this sorry farce looks set to continue.

Sky have to be careful too though. They can't be seen to be restricting access to the EPG.
