I think Sky have been using cameras recently that broadcast via 4G therefore maybe they don't need a sat truck or bike.

Possibly this camera, if so:

It's possible with most broadcast ENG cameras to stick on a transmitter to the back, whether these be 3G bonded transmitters which go via mobile networks and work pretty much anywhere or in some cases full on Gigawave COFDM radio camera links to selected receive points.

TV3 in Dublin use a system which allows them to connect to various networks around Dublin and send pictures live back to base just by having a transmitter on the back of the camera.

Echoing the comments above, impressed with Sky News' coverage of the story. As with most people I turned to BBC News first, but quickly switched to Sky when it was clear the BBC would only be showing a static screenshot of a tweet. I doubt I was the only one.
